Hi Everyone,

I am having Canon MP258 AIO which i purchased a year back, but didn't use it at all. Even i didn't open the cartridges to check.
Now i am going to start using it and was bugged by a few doubts as well as myths. So, i would be highly obliged if fellow members can clarify :

1. As the cartridges are entirely sealed, and its been ~1yr, dryness of the ink won't be an issue or its vice-versa ?

2. I am going to use it occasionally, like 2-3 prints/scans in a week. I was informed that in this time gap, the ink dries up. Is it true ?

3. What kind of room-environment is suitable for placing the AIO, as a myth again i have heard that at high room temps. , the ink dries up really fast.

4. I am thinking of placing the AIO in an isolated room detached from my PC but setting it up on a network comprising of 2 Laptops & Desktop. Is it fine ?
For eg. if i have to print a file from my PC which is in B1, and the AIO in B2. Power on my PC<Connect a laptop to AIO in B2 and then print .. is this the right way ?
Looking forward to quick replies.

Regards,
BBThumbHealer :)

1) No inks are formulated in such a manner that they do not coagulate within the sealed containers.

2) False.

3) False. But generally a computer and assorted peripherals should be kept in a place away from the vagaries of the clime. Not to hot nor to cool, will keep your system cool. Also avoid areas with humidity as most components degrade faster in those climes (reports of mother-boards rusting here on TE).

4) I'm not sure on this query let other members pitch :).

Hoe this helps and as you are new on TE, I extend you a warm welcome and a pleasant stay. Oh cripes this sounded like some cheap-frills airline talk :bleh:.
