DX is good and reliable site, and I had bought quite a few stuff from them.

1. Will there be any custom duty for this product? If yes how m

A. It depends on the items. Sometimes, the postal customs randomly pickup the items and charge customs, then you have to go and collect it from them by giving invoice and some proofs.

2. How can i make this product be sent as a gift so i can evade custom d

A. yor can ask DX to mark it as a gift.

3. I do not have a paypal account or a credit card to pay so can anyone help me in paying?

A. I can help you and pm me.

4. Has anyone bought from this site ? Please share your experience.A. As said above, had positive experience.

5. What currency exchange do they follow ? where can i find there exchange rates?A. it's based on the paypal and they charge little more than the actual rates, including their charges.

#rajveersingh09: regarding experience - it's good so far. I have ordered lots of items although low value ones, but have got almost all items.. except those piggy lights and all.

I had ordered 4 items from DX till date... Got 3 out of 4 delivered... But didn't get one 6$ LED flashlight... They say they have sent it, but there is no tracking...

1. Will there be any custom duty for this product? If yes how much?

There would be no custom duty if you use the drop shipment service from this link, though it gets applied automatically usually

http://www.dealextre...ft-service-1888

2. How can i make this product be sent as a gift so i can evade custom duty?

Answer given above

3. I do not have a paypal account or a credit card to pay so can anyone help me in paying?

Look around. Had a Paypal a/c but no longer have it..

4. Has anyone bought from this site ? Please share your experience.

Bought from there & am satisfied, though they use EMS or HongKong Post so delivery gets delayed everytime..

5. What currency exchange do they follow ? where can i find there exchange rates?

They charge you the rate prevalent that day but Paypal/ Credit card conversion charges get added by the card company

Deal extreme has started accepting Indian debit cards so payment is no more a problem. Any item you buy have option for adding tracking no for 1.70$ so we can track our package.

I just bought some pretty expensive stuff from them ($167 :O). Other places had it for a lot more so this was the only affordable option (Globalsat GB 580P). Hope I get it soon because if it gets stuck at the custom, I am screwed. Their latest policy reads:
Updates (6/13/2011): From now on, no matter if you add sku 1888 to your order, there is no DX logo or related DX information printed on packaging label.

They have also stated that they are now marking all things as gifts.
Does anyone have any idea about their usual shipping time these days? When can I expect my stuff? Some people say that nowdays it takes them 4-5 weeks. Is that true?

@baccilus : They usually ship it by Hong Kong post or Singapore Post. I find Singapore post to be fast and usually reaches India in a week's time, and another 3-4 days for local delivery.

Thanks @varkey. Now only if they would ship it soon. I have heard they work very slow now a days. Have you bought anything recently from them?

I had ordered 2 HDMI right angled converters and that shipment reached me in 10 days' time. OTOH, another order for 3 HDMI cables 3m hasn't reached me yet and it is almost a month. I am guessing it is probably stuck with the customs. :(

I don't think it will reach me either.

Would like to add my RMA experience too, I had bought a Portable Digital scale worth Rs.700. It arrived dead, everything lights up but the weight is stuck at zero, opened a RMA ticket, sent them a pic. They didn't even ask any questions, just asked me to pay Rs.100 towards shipping charges and they had sent a new one.

Regarding the shipping time, as mentioned by other members, Singpost, ezparcels are faster than HK post from my experience, also I observed, shipments to south India which go through Chennai customs are faster than the shipments to North, there were situations when me and friend both ordered at same time, I got mine in three weeks while his shipment took over a month and half, even though both were shipped at same time.

In case the shipment from DX gets stuck with the customs, how would the customer even know that it is indeed stuck with the customs? Esp. for those goods without the tracking facility?

varkey - any idea?

@Gannu : If its stuck with customs, they usually send you a physical letter asking you to visit the customs office with the proof of purchase and other details so that they can evaluate and charge the duty accordingly. Its always better to go for registered airmail as you can atleast know whether it reached India or not.

But sometimes expecially the ones sent by non-registered airmail, never come and there is no trace of it and I usually contact the seller who refunds the full payment or atleast a part of it.

@baccilus : I ordered an item on Aug 19th, got the shipment notification with Singpost tracking number on Aug 20th. But as per Singpost tracking, they received the item only on Aug 28th and the item was delivered on Sep 10th.

My experience with dealextreme has been pretty much extreme. Though I bought only low value items, the first time 2 out of the 3 I ordered were absolute crap while the 3rd worked well for a few months. The second time and the last time was very recently and 1 item was worth it while the 2nd was a total waste (LED which was not bright enough to the common eye) and the 3rd arrived in pieces, could not put it back again.

Well guess what, the HDMI cables I had ordered on 10th September finally turned up yesterday. :P

I wasn't honestly expecting the shipment to arrive since it was delayed by over a month. I convinced myself that the customs must have withheld the shipment due to the size/weight of the package but fortunately it arrived. The package weighed less than 300g and I was doubtful if there were 3 cables (of 3m length!) inside so decided to click some snaps of the package before I opened it, in case I decide to file a dispute with DX but there were 3 cables inside. Just have to check if they work properly.

I have been a regular buyer from dealxtreme since 2010, though all of the items are below $40. I have received all the items except the laser lights and a laser presenter. It's more than a year and I don't expect to get it. I don't doubt dealxtreme, rather for some security reasons customs people are stopping laser light from getting imported. Someone told me that laser lights above 1W need prior governmental clearance. But my lights were less than 50mWs. Who knows - strange are the ways of Indian customs.
