^ mulund is nice, but could be a little congested compared to nerul.

however the main thing would be traffic. going from nerul to chembur is pretty easy and hardly any traffic problems. i dont think going from mulund would be easier.

btw you could also consider kharghar. it is around 10-15 mins further from nerul.

The rickshaw rates are higher in Navi Mumbai cause the auto's here run on petrol whereas the autos in Mumbai run on CNG :p

The rates have atleast come down by a a rupee..earlier it was 13 bucks minimum :(.

In mumbai it's 9 Rs. minimum fare.

what? really? but i have seen many CNG autos here as well. :S

yes rates were really high at 13 for some time, right now its back to 11 i think.

the big difference really comes when you go for a little long distance. :|

btw navi mumbai autowalas are more 'kaminey' than mumbai side ones.

those buggers ask for half return for taking a rick from nerul to koparkhairane or even vashi most of the times. even from vashi to palm beach road sometimes, no matter what the time of the day.

same thing if you take a rick from mulund toll naka to navi mumbai side, those buggers ask for half return. whereas if you take a rick from mulund toll naka to andheri side, they wont ask for half return. :|

Take Vashi off your list b'cos now its very costly but then again you will have to go inside like koparkhairne if you want a cheaper house and then again it will far away from transportation. So, Nerul will be the best option. I stay in Nerul and I know each and every place. There are 2 phases in Nerul now. Phase 1 will be bit costly and Phase 2 (not including palm beach) is kinda cheaper compared to phase 1.

Phase 1 is east side and Phase 2 is west. By train if you travel to chembur, it takes about 20-25 mins.

Hope that helped.

I stay in Koparkhairane and let me tell you, it has been a bit difficult to find a place for rent these days. Nerul will be better.

UPDATE: I have finalised accomodation in NRI Complex - Seawoods Estate phase-1 (Sector-54, Nerul) in 18K :ohyeah:

thats super...:)....but you need a second car for your family when you are away.....

Awesome choice, that place is no longer as remote as it used to be. I would now recommend ( though i am pretty sure you already are looking at that) to get your children into DPS, but mid term admissions would be a difficulty.

Try for DPS is on though already got admiision of my two children in Ryan, Sanpada (CBSE). How is Ryan, Sanpada rep

Raj....Ryan is ok......

Are you taking someone's advice for the decisions you are making ?

How long are you going to stay in Navi Mumbai ?

Are your kids nearing the 10th?

The school choice becomes critical.

Also, I recently met my estate agent friend and inquired about the prices, keeping you in mind......He told me that it is very much possible to get a flat in Vashi for 25k.

Dont take the advice of people on the forums for this. Call an estate agent.

My own 1000 Sq. Feet House in Sec-29, Vashi is on rent for 12,500 bucks.

The problem with seawoods complex is that everything is far.

1. Malls

2. Shopping hubs like sector 17 vashi

3. Good Doctors and hospitals

4. Bakeries

5. Couriers

6. Banks

7. Good quality fruit and vegetable markets

The list is endless.....For most things you will have to go to Vashi.

If your wife can drive and you have another car its alright.

I have already seen navi mumbai area through estate agents only and I myself have finalised NRI Complex after taking due consideration of my personal requirements :). I have dedicated office vehicle, personal car with driver. So, distance may not be much prob except time to travel. In Delhi, DPS, Appejay, DAV, Ryan (In order of general preference) are considered good and I expect more or less same rating here :ohyeah: Anyway, I hope my personal decisions hold good :D

sweet.....have fun in Navi Mumbai.....let me know if you need any help...... :hap2:

Ryan sanpada i ahve no clue, its a relatively newer school. Ryan Khargar is good for icse though. As for cbse i would think try Apeejay if not DPS, it is also a very good school however its infrastructure is an issue.

Great, welcome to Nerul. Its peaceful, quiet and nice climate. Enjoy!!

P.S- I was kinda lying about the climate. I don't like it.. :D
