Hey Peeps,

My younger bro has an old rig lying around (p3 era) which he was using as a download rig, the prob is the Seagate hdd close to 6 yrs old finally was laid to rest recently. Since the price of a SATA drive is cheaper over IDE he was thinking of getting a IDE to Sata converter to get the job done since he is planning to upgrade in a month or two and if he uses a converter he can at least use the same SATA hdd which he is planning to buy.

Please note the current mobo is an old ASUS 815 board which approximately comes close to 8 years :hap2:

Any thoughts on the converter with regard to performance , compatibility with XP etc....

m using one i bought from CST for 250 bucks

performance is good and seems to be working well till now!

dunno abt reliability etc.. it didnt come with any quality assurance/warranty..
