Query regarding Dubai

Hi everyone,

I would be visiting Dubai for a few days. Its the 2nd time time i'm visting the city and have already been through desert safari, burj al arab, Jumeriah beach and the other main attractions.

This time round I'd like to concentrate a bit on other attractions as well SHOPPING (But I have my doubts whether its really worth it or not).

Shopping could include electronics, car audio, watches, computer peripherals, sunglasses, mobile phones, laptops, etc. I wanted to do my side of a comparo between the several products available in India as well as Dubai but I haven't been lucky on that part. Therefore I decided to put up a query in TE itself.

All suggestions are welcome. (For or against shopping in Dubai especially )

Some attractions that are worth checking out: Ski dubai, creek ride (although you'll become a nigger in this weather), camel and horse back riding.

Things to buy: alcohol/cigarettes (if you're into that stuff), gold, pashminahs, watches, perfumes

Don't go anywhere near Karama to buy stuff cuz you'll get ripped off in no time.
 
GO mall of the emirates - skiing, browse the virgin store (music shop m8) and the jumbo shop, next hit the ibn battuta mall and spend time with the Yamaha shop there :P thats what i did. Also friday discount offers on big brand clothes like ralph lauren etc so keep a keen eye for them, sometimes you can get a 70% off too.
 
electronics----SharafDG for good branded ones/Sabakha in Deira if you want to bargain but check the item before buying.
car audio---Naif area, Need good bargaining skills
watches---Depends on your budget,For 200-1000 dhs buy in Sabakha,Deira.If you need Fake/Copy ones, come to gold souq in Deira.
computer peripherals----Al ain center(aka Computer plaza) in Bur dubai or SharafDG
sunglasses--Depends on your budget, but i prefer it to buy from India as they are cheap there.
mobile phones---Gargash center in Sabakha,Need bargaining skills
laptops---Al ain center(aka Computer plaza) in Bur dubai or SharafDG

I buy clothes from India as they are cheap there, and most of the clothes which are sold here are made in India
