Question reagerding modded xbox360 ?

If one has a soft modded xbox360 does he get banned if he goes on live with a original disc for gaming.
 
In short, as of now, the chances are there that the mod can be detected and console can be banned

MS doesnt look for the game being run but rather the firmware of the drive and how it responds to certain queries made, so an unexpected response can flag the console for banning
 
Don't play games on live Cause its risky u can get banned.
U can go and can update ur console or download any maps or offline content(expansion) and stuff like that.But dont try to play with backups and also to be on safe side also dont PlAy orginals.
There are people u dont get banned as hey always have stealth patched games with latest firmware but u can end up been banned or also they could end up been banned.Like microsoft banned many people bfore COD MW2 game launch
Cause it was sudden move from microsoft.
 
The updates to the NXE (namely, in my opinion that damn WPA2 update for wireless adapter, which was released around October). Basically, Microsoft did an update to NXE to turn on a tool to check the DVD drive's firmware. This is what I've been told anyways. So, if you already modded your console and updated NXE, you are screwed...

If that is the case i would advice not to modd ur console as of now if you are willing to play online... Wait for LT to be released... But many says that we gotta pay for LT :(... If you are going to play only offline game, then go ahead and modd ur console with IX1.61... bcoz one fine day even LT can be detected by m$....

I have a hardmodded xbox360 and go live for updates and free content.No problem at all.But i have never tried playing with original/backup games while signed in live.Also for jasper(as it is reliable version) go for hard-mod cause i never had to do any firmware update or anything till date to play anybackup.AND for RROD u can repair it on ur own if it happens the cost of material is Rs300 max for repairing and vary with different use of thermal paste.
And in INDIA we get NTSC version of hardmod xbox360 Its cost is also very less than indian price.
 
And what exactly is this hardmod that you are talking about? dont post rubbish mate..

the reason you didnt have to update your firmware is coz you are probably running ixtreme 1.51 which runs all the games irrespective of if they are stealth patched or not

as for the going live is concerned, if you are going to play online, then wait for ixtremeLT to be released, it will be paid and last i checked it was going to retail at 110$.

If you are never going to go online then just install the ixtreme 1.61 and be done with it :P

also do keep in mind that MS also has a system of tracking the games youve played apparently, so even if you dont have the backed up game in the drive and go online, you still may get banned coz as i said MS doesnt check for the game but the response from the drive to certain commands, if the check fails, your console gets flagged and you will be banned in 3-4 days

When i said hardmod i meant to say i used modchip to play backup.

I am not talking rubbish i have modchip installed in jan 2008.Now till date AFAIK there have been atleast 2 waves of games. I never had to update any firmware of my drive. ixtreme 1.5x have released in 2009.I have not done any modification since jan 2008 except installing the modchip in jan 08.And MS checking drive thank u for sharing the info ,can they check for modchip installed drive?

What mod chip? There is none. Are you talking about the JTAG hack?
 
ModChip? Xbox360? Bro i am not sure but are you confused between xbox and xbox360 .. Xbox were hard modded earlier using the Modchip .. The New Jasperr Models need to be Hard Modded to extract the Key .. The Jtag Explot has come into existence now only so its not possible that he got it hard modded in Jan 2008 .. and also Jtag dsnt let you play pirated games it just for running a custom kernel etc etc ..

@Rave - I thought the whole ixtremeLT at $110 was just some rumours .. i doubt it will see the light of day ..
 
freeBOOT is a rebooter for the Microsoft Xbox 360. This version of freeBOOT allows you to reboot into kernel 2.0.8955 on all Xenon, Zephyr, Falcon, and Jasper consoles with 16MB flashes, which are vulnerable to the JTAG hack.
Support for Opus and Jasper consoles with larger flashes will follow soon.
As freeBOOT needs a second flash memory to store kernel 2.0.8955 and associated data, either a Cygnos360 or an xD card mod is required at the moment.
 
@apextwin146 I never said anything about pirated i said backup of my original games I have an xbox 360 which was bought in jan2008 and shop which had bought installed the modchip for me(but not in front of me).I have never tried to open my drive and see if its installed modchip or not as long as it works (i.e play my backups).After 2 years my xbox360 plays the latest games backups .And since jan 2008 there have been many waves of games which needs to change the firmware if i had a softmod.But i never had to do anything.So i think the shopkeeper must have installed the modchip.

@ethan_hunt There are modchip for xbox 360(i am not saying that i have the same modchip as the link below cause the shopkeeper avoided to tell me the name of the modchip neither i have opened my drive to see the name)Link is just included to show there are modchips for xbox 360
