quick help on gaming headphones

^Some of the 5.1 gaming headsets have evolved a lot from the Zalman 5.1 headset which used to retail long ago. The Roccat Kave seems to be very popular and have been praised for its surround effects and pronounced bass, not usually found in gaming headsets. All said and done, they will not match audiophile grade cans such as the Beyer DT770Pro and the AKG 702 for instance. Besides, some of them may require an amp to be driven to their best performance since they have higher impedance rating.
I have been using the Audio Technica AD700 for the past couple of months and have been a happy camper ever since I took the plunge. Mind you, I have these amped as well but they can be driven off the device directly going by the hearsay. The soundstage is just amazing once these cans have been completely burned-in. It took roughly about a fortnight with 3~4 hours of usage per day for them to open up. The bass is just apt - you do not feel the thump nor is it too low.
I'd recommend the AD700 for you. I got mine from the Amazon and paid 90USD for it.

was about to get ad700.got confused by tritton ax pro but reviews dont seem any good for this headphones,cant find roccot kave at any major sites online,friend would coming on monday should order it by tonight,also thought about corsair hsi but it comes only with usb btw i will be using on xbox and ps3 as well
