Quick question about The Witcher 2

Okay, I'm sold :) Buying it now.

Awesome, It's one of the best rpgs of all time.
I finished it 6-7 times myself.

Oh and I get about 35-38 fps on very high settings(no ubersampling and SSA0)
Sometimes it drops to 24-25 when i use bombs but it runs just fine most of the time.

You could be. I'll have to play the game to know just how evil you are. :P

If that is what it takes to make you play the game, please do. =]

Wishing all on this thread a Happy, Prosperous and Healthy New Year 2013. Cheers!

This game is excellent. Thank you guys so much.

I began playing at 5pm yesterday, and when I decided to take a break, it was 9 in the morning today :P I can't put it down. With the settings Alpha17 suggested, I'm getting 45 to 70 fps depending on the area, but I decided to take a rather strange option (for me). I turned on every single option, save for Ubersampling and enabled Double Vsync with Radeon Pro to lock the framerate at a steady 30.

It's quite playable, surprisingly.

Take it really slowly! At this pace, the game'd be over before you know of it. :P

The game isn't long by RPG standards, despite attempting the side quests.

Excellent! Good to know that. Make sure you complete the game twice to see the 2 different paths that it allows you to pick.

Since I had The Witcher: EE downloaded on my computer I started that game rather than The Witcher 2. Now that I have figured out the sword mechanics, the game is tolerable. But I still hate the way I can't really control where I want to look properly.

Good, at this pace you might see everything including the 8 major choices that alter the game, also CD PROJECKT RED has plans to release MOD tools as well as a final DLC this quarter.

I am glad the settings worked well for you Sire.

Honest question, is it beautiful OR not?

The game isn't long by RPG standards, despite attempting the side quests.

At-least it does not give me quests like, find me the decomposing-stumpy-mouldy-thingamajig of Power that is located at the border of the game map in a cave infested with the same enemies who you slew last time to get me the thingamajig of Coincidence of meeting you again; to extend the game.

It's quite strange to be honest. When I saw screenshots or videos, I didn't think highly of the visuals. They seemed far from terrible but like nothing I'd write home about either. I bought it for the gameplay.

It's an entirely different experience when playing the game. It's beautiful beyond belief. The Art Direction is phenomenal, and since I work in a similar field, I'm often spending time appreciating the quality of the textures and lighting rather than progressing in the game.

That forest is just breathtaking at times.
