not worth 149$ right now. This card is still only as powerful as a GTS 250.

For 145$, you can get a 4870 512/1GB which is almost 30~35% faster.

^^well the card is ugly too. Think only boon would be reduced power consumption.

well actually the card's cooler is damn ugly.........but look at the pcb size....it is very small..........will fit in any case easily.........and the power consumption will be very less........the perfomance is really really disappointing........cmon ati...i hoped dis hd5770 will be 2x to hd4770......if its not, then whats the point of releasing a new architecture card which is just a bit faster than previous one....hd 5800 series, both have lived up to their promise but this series sucks in terms of perfomance.......please dont tell me its true as i was going to buy one of these cards.......:(

@hunte

actually the performance is impressive considering its an HD 5750, and not a 5770. I think this card is meant to replace 4670 but not is same cat as 4770. I think the 5770 shud be much faster.

But its the price point which makes these ones really bad guy. Or is it the price we've pay for just being DX 11?

Maybe ATI is sure there wont be any competing DX11 cards from nvidia nytime soon, so no point in bringing the prices down, and sell HD 4xxx cards in meantime, so that later when nvidia too releases DX 11 cards, the prices shall fall and the existing HD 4xxx users will be temped to buy the newer cards and hence they can make maximum sale and hence max profit in a short period, or maybe just they are out of stock, which is making these hotties damn expensive than the old DX 10.1 ladies.

If the above benchmarks are true and if we asssume that 5750 will cost around 145$ then it would be a very good deal since it compares with gts 250 and is slightly cheaper . I am going to wait 15-20 days now before buying a card . My budget is around 8-8.5k .

A 5770 should be like 20-30% faster than a 5750. So something like a 4870.

IMO no point upgrading to anything but a 5850 as a 5870 costs 50% more and should be like 20% faster only.

The benchmarks this guy included are not really representable nor stable. The card shows the same performance as a GTS 250 in 3DMark06, which doesn't seem right.
tat gives me hope.........

how the hell it gonna beat 4870 with 128bit memory bandwidth........this is sure gonna be bottleneck..119 euros=8169Rs=10k+Rs (in india) .......4870 seems to be better option

If some early listings are to be believed, and they usually are, ATI's HD 5750 cards will sell at €119, while the slightly faster HD5750 will end up with a €149 MRSP.

The HD5750 packs a Juniper LE GPU at 725MHz and 1GB of GDDR5 memory clocked at 1150MHz on a 128-bit bus. It has 1120 stream processors and 56 texture units. Of course, it supports DirectX 11 and shader model 5. This sounds like a pretty tempting deal at just €119.

If you're after the HD5770, you will get an 825MHz Juniper XT GPU, while the rest of the spec is identical to the LE version. While it will be somewhat faster than the HD 5750, we're really not sure the 125MHz higher clock is worth 25 percent more.

Windows 7 launches in two weeks, and as if that wasn't bad enough, Nvidia probably won't have anything to compete with these cards in time for the holiday shopping season. A DirectX 11 sticker on a new Windows 7 rig sounds rather good, especially at these prices.

The cards should officially launch and ship in a couple of says, October 8 apparently.

More Shaders + Higher Mem clock+128bit controller > HD4870, though the difference is going to marginal, it is still a performance increase. Besides the HD4870 is going to be EOL'd shortly after the HD5770/HD5750 is launched.

When Nvidia launches the GT300, expect the price wars bringing this card to 7-8k.

Not to forget advantages such as improved architecture, eyefinity etc etc.

What ATI is trying to do is bring down the costs down (manufacturing cost) and provide HD4870+10% performance at the price < HD4870.

5870 153gb/s

5850 128gb/s

5770 73gb/s

5750 73gb/s

they should have provided 192bit bus on 5770

from the specs it seems that 5750 will definitely be vfm but not not 5770

Two of these cards in crossfire will be VFM and will outperform the HD5890 at a lower price point.
