Just went through this thread and can't really believe how people are even believing all BS this guy is saying :@ :@.

The credit note thing would be fine if SoundMagic had stopped production of the particular model . AFAIK , PL-30 is still available. Also just because SM doesn't have an office here doesn't mean an RMA can' be done . As long as the dealer has got the product from an official channel he can very well claim warranty from the parent company weather or not he is still the distri/ dealer for the product . Maybe Rahul just doesn't want to try out the proper way or maybe SoundMagic is not entertaining him , because of which he has to take such action and create senseless RMA policies. If its the case that SM -China itself is not ready to help , a credit note would be fine but not on the basis of rental depreciation calculation .

A very clear and simple example of such case was another "young-make-fast-money" dealer on TE who was later banned . He imported NuForce , sold them initially and than when time for warranty came he started making excuses and avoided the customers because NuForce had terminated his contract .

In this case even though NuForce didn't have any office or distri in India they sent out replacements for every single dead NE6,NE7M etc at their own expenses(freight+customs) and even arranged for pick-up of defective items by Fed-Ex . Now that is what is called true customer service. They could have easily put their hands up saying , claim warranty from your dealer as he still had stock remaining .

Rahul says he does not have stock whereas PL30's are still in production. My suggestion:

'Wait for him to restock and then take a new piece"...obviously he will not stop restocking Pl30's just for one RMA:)

Prime did not do that Altec Lancing did u just gave it for RMA through Prime

So tell me something y were u offered a CN of Rs.5000/- according to these guys here u shld get 7700/- coz that's what u paid for so what I m doing is the same thing

Plus 6021 is at a similar price point and is available with them

I bought mx5021 from prime around oct/nov 2010 period, it started to give some problems and in feb 2011 , i gave for rma, now, after 2-3 months prime, told me that they dont have mx5021 and the repaired product is not going to be good for me, so they offered me CN for Rs.5000/-,I had paid Rs.7700./-.

They offered me Brand new mx6021 which i refused.

Now, I have accepted CN, which they will send me cheque in next 1 week or so, I just want to say that prime did what is actually expected from a dealer, which is to try to get it repaired, if not then offer complete money or same replacement, if not the next higher model of the product and if I refuse the replacement then CN which is mutually agreed upon.

I have done deal with Rahul, but never had to get rma yet, hence cant comment on the same, but I liked primeabgb for rma , even though I had to pay 5-10% extra then market price while purchasing.

Stop talking about prime now... The user is telling about the steps prime took to deal with user.... You dont have to take some others example to cover yours... Come on rahul, you have been such a great dealer over years and now this behavior in not acceptable

Rahul just check if any dealer in lammy has got the set that OP needs..

Yes, as I said, they used following method :-

1) I gave my mx5021 for rma, they gave rashi for repair,
2) Rashi couldnt repair the same and offered me Brand new sealed pack mx6021
3) I refused mx6021 , as I dont feel its good/worth more then 5021.
4) Prime/Rashi/Myself agreed to Rs5k mutually.
Rashi/prime never offered me CN for 5k before trying to repair the speakers, and offered me 6021 even now I can get 6021, which i dont want as I am not happy with it, so they did their part of repairing the product as for which warranty is given, and if not repaired , same model 5021, which was not available , so they offered higher model 6021 which I refused and hence last option CN.

I request you to go through the same process and I am confident that the matter will solve within 1 hr.

Thanks,

Either you did not read all the posts here, or you refuse to understand what is being told. As already mentioned a lot of times on this thread, during warranty claim, in case you don't have the product, give a CN of the current market value of the same product if bought new, else a replacement of similar or higher value. In this case, the PL30 is NOT available for 400 bucks as per your own admission. Why then give a CN of 400.

@Others: The positive I see here is the new rental scheme from ITWares. Buy a product with a certain warranty. If you don't like it, or feel like upgrading once the model is off, damage it carefully, return it, and ask for replacement. He will deduct amount for the months you used. Nice rental scheme!

I can understand u guys helping a fellow TE Member

But my decision stays

Please tell me what special steps were taken offering to get the same repaired I offer u guys the same here if u want get this repaired I will bear the cost of repair coz there is no service center for the same to get them repaired.

Warranty is defined as "A written guarantee, issued to the purchaser of an article by its manufacturer, promising to repair or replace it if necessary within a specified period of time". There is no question of in stock, out of stock, not being manufactured, etc.

I think you suggest OP some same performance/price earphones as a replacement... thats the best thing you can do now

I dont think the word "Price" should be used to compare the product, and if used then only "market price" should be used.

Then take OP's earphones, put your effort to get a replacement from the manufacturer and deliver the new sets/replacement sets to OP.... you are a bridge between end user and manufacturer and its your job to facilitate transportation (here it means: RMA) between the two...

Prime offered him a genuine amount as a credit note. 5000 INR is pretty reasonable IMO. Heck even Rashi isn't this bad!

Had you offered the OP an amount of say 600 INR, I am sure he would have obliged. You ticked him off by offering a lowly amount and he was super pissed!

Its crystal clear from Vahss_11 post the customer bought MX5021 in Nov 2010 it got bad in Feb 2011 = 3 Months

Service Center took 2-3 Months to try and get the same repaired and for three months they reduced 2700/- of a 7700/- Value of Product have 3 Yrs Warranty

So i am still paying like 50% of the Product Value after Seven Months which is more than 50% of Warranty time, if u still think u deserve full 900/- i am sorry but i will not be able to give u the same

--- Updated Post - Automerged ---

Really please keep in mind u are comparing 7700/- Rs. product with a 900Rs. product also read my above post u will understand what i am trying to say do the math and post back here if i think ur Math is right i will pay him 600/-

Again.. :( the ear phones current price should be the consideration.
in other case he was offered 5000 because thats the value at that time, he was also offered a next range product.. in this case we have the product in the market atleast forget about the next range.

Why did you miss this point ,did you try this you cant take only the points which will suite you and highlight them. He was offered only 5k for 7.7K he paid as he didnt accept brand new sealed piece and the cost of the original product also decreased.
How can you compare this case with PL 30.

2) Rashi couldnt repair the same and offered me Brand new sealed pack mx6021

No they don't calculate it the way you are saying they do it the way i have posted it if u don't believe me fine everyone here is free to do as per their liking , customers may not buy from me if they think i am doing something wrong , Mods are free to Remove my dealership i give u guys full freedom (Which you already have :))

Plus stop comparing big big companies warranty to Soundmagic , they don't have the kind of presence the way the Big ones have

(5000/7700)*900 = 584.4 bucks. Rounding it off to 600. Basic maths. :)
