MOBO : Intel G33 original
RAM : 3 X 1 GB DDR2 800MHz
+ 1 X 2 Gb DDR2 800MHz

my MOBO have 4 ram slots Dual channel.

can i fix 3 X 1 GB DDR2 800MHz + 1 X 2 Gb DDR2 800MHz in the four slots ... will it work???..
so that i can use a total ram of 5 GB...
???

also curren;y i have fixed 2 X 1 GB DDR2 800MHz + 1 X 2 Gb DDR2 800MHz in the 3 slots.. so that the total RAM is 4 Gb ...But my Win7 shows installed memory : 4Gb (3.24 usable)
Also i have a dedicated GPU Sapphire HD5670 1 Gb working fine...
why is the system not using the full 4Gb RAM. I have also checked in bios ... 4Gb is detected.
wht might be the problem??

Regards,
AH

because you installed 32 bit win7 install.

check if your system is 64 bit compatible and install 64 bit windows to use 4gb ram

I guess you have 32 bit operating system, and this 3.24gb issue is due to it. 32-bit OS can use upto 3.24gb of ram. If you want to utilize the complete 4gb ram, then upgrade your OS to 64 bit one.

yes its a 32bit win7 ....

but if i istall 64 bit Win7 .. will i be able to use all 5Gb of ram..??

""3 X 1 GB DDR2 800MHz + 1 X 2 Gb DDR2 800MHz in the four slots ... will it work???

Also jus for knowledge ... why is that win7 32 bit does not uses full 4Gb??

mine is Win7 ULTIMATE 32bit....

if i install Win7 64bit.. will all my 32bit application work on win7 64bit ???

also will all my games work ???

Also i am not sure if my Win7 DVD have 64bit in it ???? how do i check??

To check your OS, right click on Computer>properties
Check "System type : _________"

If you change then you will have to install the 64 drivers for your system and most of the 32 bit apps will work on 64 bit platform, but critical system apps will not, for that you will have to install their 64-bit version

..not my installed OS .. installed one is Win7 Ultimate 32bit...

need to know if my win7 DVD also have 64bit in it ?? how do i chk??

i guess 64bit abd 32bit DVD are seperate .. is it???

If the windows setup files in your dvd goes beyond 3gb, then i am sure you have both the 32 and 64 bit versions...

^ then it might have only the x86 version. You can try checking the package with vlite, it will lis all the available version in that image file
