Okay guys. I have opened the package of my S12ii 430
Now here are some problems.
1) The bill mentions less price than what I paid as many of his customers have experienced. Its not a big deal for me
2) The Box says 3 years warranty while the ebay listing said 5 yrs. One of the main reasons I bought this. What to do now?
3) The item is manufactured in October 2011. It is 2 years old. So, should I worry about it? I guess not but u guys suggest. What if its a refurbished piece. How to confirm?
4) The SMPS has a screen guard like film inside it just below the fan. Its covering about 35% of the area below the fan. Have included pics of the same. Is it normal?

Here is a link for the zip file containing pics of the bill and the SMPS.

Please answer my 2nd, 3rd and 4th question
I am gonna give him -ve feedback

-----------------------------------UPDATE-------------------------------
Just came across this thread
http://www.techenclave.com/community/threads/special-price-seasonic-430w-smps-3000-shipping.88304/
Here, he is saying that Seasonic gives 3 yrs warranty and selling on ebay saying 5 yrs. But the thread is so old, so it might have changed but the box says 3 yrs. Remember, the piece I got is also old. Its from a stock of Oct 2011

I have informed Seasonic about this. Lets hope for the best

2- its three years warranty. Its mentioned on their website. Someone here pointed it out to me via a pdf link.
3- its not normal to get a 2yr old psu. Even in factory sealed pack. I mean these guys usually keep computer components on a demand supply basis. They usually sell out stuff within days. At the most two three months difference between manufacture or import date and sale date.

What do I do now?
Raise a dispute with seller or just keep it?
I am mailing Tirupati about warranty and the SMPS being 2 yr old

Best option would be to raise a dispute. Tell Ebay that the item is too old and might be refurb unit. Just say its not as described. The listing says new unit, right?
2yrs old unit is not new.

After you raise a dispute, you will need to send the item back at own cost probably. Its itwares, so he won't pay any shipping costs. Just get your money back and buy from flipkart or some other better place.

The listing doesn't say new unit. Only 5 yrs warranty.
Anyways, I filed for a claim on ebay after I tried calling them(itwares) on all their numbers but nobody picked either of those.
I have also informed Seasonic and Tirupati about it.
I dont wanna send it back on my own cost. I would take around 150 which would go from my pocket and my Dad is gonna scold me. :(
Just hope they send me a new unit and pay for shipping this unit back. I can live with 3 years warranty. But 5 years seemed nice

------------------EDIT-------------------
Yes it says new unit

I bought 2 psu from open market lately . They were less than 3 months on date mentioned on pack . So a 2 year psu is unacceptable .

Yup, thats what is bugging me. Even 5,6 months is acceptable for me but 2 years. Seriously. What if its a refurbished piece? How would the buyer know this?
I wonder why no one from Mumbai registered a case against him.
Jaago Grahak Jaago. :p

A sincere apology to
tech.addict for taking over his thread.

And one important thing that I forgot to tell you guys who have been helping me. There was no seal on the box. I have the unboxing of the package to prove it

The warranty is 3 yrs. I had posted that pdf link.

2 yrs is high but last month when i got the same seasonic model of 520 w from snapdeal the import date was july 2012.
And the seller was tirupati ent which is handles rma of seasonic in india.

Check the psu through the fan grill for any dust deposit or any type of prior usage

Looks clean. Was your SMPS box sealed?
If yes, can you share a pic?
Mine wasn't

I would suggest get a written confirmation on warranty if its 3 yrs or 5 yrs, both from Seller as well as Tirupati Ent i.e Distributers, if its not 5 years simply open a Case with ebay / paisapay for refund as item description is "severely not as described" in this case. But be quick since you have only 20 days from date of receipt of item.

If verdict is in favour of you (which is likely with warranty ambiguity), you will get full refund also a Coupon worth the amount you spent on shipping back the item, Seller here should get a Negative Feedback & Infraction from ebay.

Get the same PSU from a reliable source, maybe 100-300 extra but peace of mind.

Just checked the box, no it was not sealed otherwise the black box would have retained the torned seal plastered on the edges.

I have informed everybody there is i.e, Seasonic, ebay and Tirupati.
I can live with 3 yrs warranty too but if I could teach him a lesson, I would try atleast

Thank you

Let us know what happens tomorrow. Maybe this rahul is another amar*** clone?

He(Rahul) just called me and asked in a very polite manner whats the problem with the SMPS?
And I told him about the Mfg date and the warranty part. He first replied that Overclockerszone also provides 5 yrs warranty so I need not worry about it and I checked their ebay listing and it was correct. Then he said that sometimes the seller isnt able to sell an item and so that's the reason that the SMPS is from old stock. So I told him that I will need to confirm about the warranty part with the Overclockerszone.
Saurabh from overclockerszone replied to my e-mail and asked for S/N and I have provided him with bill, mfg date pic and S/N
Now we have to wait. If it has 5 years warranty, I might keep it and get it RMAed later.
The only reason I think I would return it is, if it is found to be a refurb unit

But how will you know if it's a refurb unit? any markers for identifying?
I dont know but Tirupati should know this. I was counting on them.
Anyways, Tirupati Enterprises told me that Seasonic provides 5 years warranty in India and not 3. But their reply indirectly implies that they provide 5 years warranty from the purchase date of the retailer and not the end customer. They also asked me to ask Rahul about his purchase date which he said to be 8 May 2013 and also that Tirupati kept the SMPS in their stock for 1.5 years and that is not his problem, which is also true if he bought it on 8 May 2013. But he didnt send me an e-mail. He kept on repeating that my e-mail wont help you as they kept it with them for 1.5 years and not me.
Tirupati has told me that they provide a 2 month grace in some cases and that they would try to help me.
One thing that I can't figure out is why Tirupati asked me to ask Rahul about his purchase date. Cos I sent Tirupati the required pics of the bill, box, S/N and ebay listing. I mean they should have the date in their data base so why ask me to ask Rahul

After ebay customer care tells you to send the unit back to the seller only then you send it back. The return courier charges will be refunded to you by ebay when you send then a scanned copy of the courier bill (mostly through ebay coupon).
