i was downloading files from rapidshare and after every file is downloaded i have to wait for 15 mins (though i reset my router to get a new ip).
but the question is, has rapidshare introduced this limit again for free users? it isnt mentioned anywhere on their website.
this wasnt the case last night.

.de or .com?

I am able to download from rapidshare.com (.de has those kitties I hate so much) w/o any problem since last 1 week... wait time is 90sec for me... and I have downloaded more than 350MB in succession w/o any issue.

Go RS!!

I think they have done something... I don't need to reset my IP anymore... (for now, atleast)

i dont have any issues either i have to wait about 90 seconds .. without resetting my IP.. so maybe its some other issue

rapidshare.com not .de (does anyone even use .de now? :P)

im not talking about the 90 sec limit. after i finish downloading a file and try to download another file, i get a message saying if you want to download more wait for 15 mins, before that 90 sec counter starts.

btw i was also getting full max speeds. :D

Just came across this....

According to a ruling published yesterday, a court in Hamburg, Germany has ruled that Rapidshare is currently not doing enough to combat copyright infringement and that its filter system is ineffective.

The ruling says Rapidshare must now become more active in finding files that infringe on copyrights, especially after rights holders makes the company aware of them. The new rule is very similar to that of the DMCA here in the States.

Besides taking down infringing content however, the company must also "proactively check content before publishing it" to see if similar files have been posted before and to see if those files infringed content. More strikingly however, Rapidshare has to log IP addresses of "potential infringers."

Rapidshare currently uses a MD5 Hash checking filter to stop the upload of previously removed material, but the court ruled that that was not sufficient as uploaders would only have to change a couple of bytes in the file in order to circumvent the filter. Archives with passwords are also very hard to check, if not impossible.

are u guys using DHCP or static IPs....since Rapidshare does not work properly with static ips....i mean to say that after u download a particular file....u have to wait for a period of time depending on the file size.....i use DHCP protocol.........and wot i do is to basically flush the DNS cache and start again for the next download :) ....i do this using a batch file i created....and i dont have to wait any longer ;).....

^ that was earlier. the new rapidshare doesnt have any waiting period after downloading a file except for the 90 sec wait.

but im still getting that message to try after 15 mins. and now im not even getting full speeds. :(
