Rate the Last Movie You Saw...

^Enjoyable, sure. Could it have been better - YES!

I never understood why Yates got to direct the 6th and both the 7th book based movies after the 5th movie. So much was left out of that movie! And then came the 6th movie, how can you have a movie with 'the Half Blood prince' in the title and not even properly explain what, why and who was it? The first part of the Deathly Hallows movie was fine, but the second part could have been so much better had it been 10-15 odd minutes longer.

^^ Agreed. I was a bit disappointed by the second half, the movie lost its pace. Had the second half of the film been like the first half, it would have been very very much enjoyable. Good nevertheless. Loved the line:

The Boy Who Lived...Come to Die.

--- Updated Post - Automerged ---

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring - 8/10.

Watched the movie at 1080p and wow, it was truly an exceptional film. Great Beginning!

Finally watched Sucker Punch; turned out to be such a snoozefest that I had to skim through the last 30mins or so. Its was something of a masterpiece in that despite having such cool visuals/production values the movie was impossibly boring.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes : 8/10...... second best movie of the summer after Xmen : First class.

Captain America - The First Avenger : 7.5/10..... loved it, the movie isn't gr8 but there's no bullshit in the movie compared to other movies this summer.

I hope you are watching the extended version. There are some good scenes in there.

LOTR: TFOTR - 9/10 for me

Yup! I've extended blu-ray discs of the trilogy. :P

Well, I'm watching the movie after 10 years. Had it been 2001, I would had definitely given 9/10. Now off for the next movie of the series. Loving the 1080p goodness.

Human Nature (2001) : 8.5/10

A must watch if you're a Michel Gondry fan or for that matter, even if you like movies like Fight Club, Being John Malkovich, etc.

Its a weird, absurd comedy but at the same its so wonderfully psychological and introspective which leaves you somewhat mind-f#cked towards the end if you try to make sense of it. On the one hand is the argument of humans being civilized social beings. On the other is the point that we are still animals and should be in touch with nature and the earth.

Rise of POTA : 8/10.

Is quite the typical story of science going wrong, but the treatment is decent and the Ape world PoV is different. Is quite analogous to the Heston version, with the paradigm flipped around.

Watch it.

Zindagi Na Milegee Dubhara : 8/10

This movie gets a high score from me. Why..? It has a solid script, which is difficult to get these days at Bollywood. Just that the handling of the story line is quite lame. It could have been made much more crispy and precise. Some of the scenes really really shine -- specially where the main characters are in conflict. No, it is not a Hindi version of "Due Date" as some pegged it, is much more and has some thoughtful moments.

Anyone 30 years or greater should get together with some friends and give this a "try".

:)

I can't spot a single listing of Captain America/Final Destination 5/Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes anywhere in Kolkata? WTF?! :| Others, what's your status?

The agreement between the exhibitors and distributors expired a couple of weeks back and hence the showdown. Not to worry, Bodyguard is releasing soon and things will be back to normal :)
