Rate the Last Movie You Saw...

Battle Royale

A Japanese movie set in future wherein students of one particular class (chosen randomly each year) are left on an uninhabited island to fight for 3 days; the last survivor after three days is free to go. If there's no last survivor everyone dies.

The acting is average as all the actors are very young, but they did pull it off quite well. The soundtrack is amazing - using classic western music interspersed with other tunes, and the story keeps you interested once it has progressed after about half an hour. I don't know what location they used, but the way they've shot is great too. The film is an adaption of a book and shames The Hunger Games, which I think is a direct rip off of Battle Royale. A good thriller movie with just the right amount of gore.

yeh jawani hai deewani : 2/10

The Man from Nowhere..?
That one was good too.

Strange Days - 7/10
Nothing too great. A Bit cheesy from the 90s sci fi.

The place beyond the pines - 7.6/10
Painfully slow at times.. but def not a bad aftertaste.

Now you see me 8/10

Don't understand the critics rating this. I think it held up quiet decent for what it was supposed to e and kept the audience glued till the end. Had a proper movie weekend this time in pvr. The crowd was disciplined.

Wow that's one hell of a list. Coming to 'Devil's Double', had read decent reviews about it so gave it a go. After a lot of continuity jumps realised I was watching on Z studio :(. Although not too great a story (later read that there's a dispute whetner the book this is based on is real or not) , the movie totally belonged to Dominic Cooper. But I think I missed out on a lot because of cuts which would have made a greater impact. What's your take on it? Should I go again with an uncut version?
