Anyone here using Razer Cobra? I sent my Viper 8 KHz for RMA to Acro and they are offering me a Cobra as a replacement once stock arrives. Is it an upgrade or a sidegrade? Do I check with them for other paid upgrade options?

Are they asking you 1K for upgrade ?

They have not said anything about upgrade cost till now. Did they ask 1k in your case? Which mouse did you RMA?

I also asked about other options and they gave these.

(1) Razer DeathAdder V2 X Hyper Speed Wireless Ergonomic Gaming RZ01-04130100-R3A1.

(2) Razer Basilisk V3 - Ergonomic Wired Gaming Mouse RZ01-04000100-R3M1.

They asked me 1K for razer cobra. When I checked it was barely any better from my viper mini. So I asked them for Basilisk v3.
 
Sorry unrelated, but what issue are you facing? My viper mini is having an issue with the scroll wheel, and I'm wondering if its worth asking for rma.
 
They asked for 1K, and they were dead set on getting that 1k.
Razer cobra goes for 3K, and Basilisk V3 goes for 3.8k,
but they just wanted that 1K.
 
how does the weight difference of basilisk from viper mini/cobra feel? my viper mini is also due for rma and i was thinking of getting the deathadder v2x but it's >100gm with AA batteries

The weight is almost double but I don't feel the difference. Almost like it's gliding. I liked viper mini for it's perfect grip but even with basilisk V3's bigger size I'm not having any issues.

My viper mini also had the middle mouse not clicking sometimes issue. I RMAed it they offered a viper 8k, but I had to pay 500 extra. The Viper 8k is a bit bigger and a bit heavier as well.

it's mostly because the encoder is exposed to dust. eventually most of their mice starts scroll malfunctioning

most if not all of their mice has this issue. encoders are very sensitive to dust. they'll be offering you a cobra as the viper mini replacement. if it's out of warranty and you encounter encoder issues, you either have to clean it with ipa or change it altogether.

Cobra is being offered free for viper 8khz. In the case of viper mini, they are charging 1k more.

Hey man, did you get the replacement mouse? I sent my viper mini for rma, which they received last week and said they will send a cobra as replacement "when stock arrives". Also they didn't mention any additional cost.

Yes. I settled for a Basilisk V3. Did not want to wait for the Cobra.
