THANKS for the info. I do like this mouse - feels nice only the thumb buttons clicks are a bit mushy - they do not have as much of a postive click as other mice I have used - but this is hardly a problem. (Nikhil you are safe for the moment  )

@Funky .... you have made my day !! I was regretting a wee bit about not having waited for a day for the Genius 535 but your comments on the 525 make me feel I am better off with the MX518. Sometimes laziness works to your advantage :ohyeah:

Genius Ergo 525 feels great n tracks nicely and good for bigger hands but wats fincky is the quality of the buttons, they look like they will fall off anyday. But overall I like this one...Iam using it at 800dpi only...

Yep, Ergo is great for the guy moving from some regular optical mouse.

But MX518 is solid heavy and nice mouse. oozes with quality. And Genius simply is inferior in built quality. The grip, buttons, teflon contacts are top notch on MX518. Much better than Genius.

The tracking is great on Genius, no doubt about it. But yeah MX518 is a nice mouse. Old but its certainly the best mouse i have ever owned till date.

@Funky - THANKS for the info. I remember reading on the Internet a few years back that Genius were the makers of Microsoft's mice. Even now ?

YES ... THANK YOU for the recommendation .... I think it is the BEST mouse I have ever used ... nice feel and fits my hands perfectly.

Like the Mc ad says.... I AM LUVING IT !!! :)

O well. A new situation has creeped up here. If I change my notebook from light blue to dark pink the mosue seems to start tracking normally.

Surfaces it refuses to track on are : -

1) wood
2)paper
3) Black notebook
3) Blue notebook
4) anything which does'nt resemble a mousepad
5) White notebook
6) white notebook paper
7)light purple notebook.

Now as the thing refuses to track on wood, which it should be able to, I can assume that the sensor is indeed fked. But how is it that its giving me okay performance on different surfaces. First thing that comes to my mind is that there's not enough power going into the sensor thingy, due to which its unable to detect light reflected off darker surfaces, However going by my 8th standard physics, Dark stuff absorbs more light while light stuff reflects it (correct me and I'll ridicule yo punk'ass off).

Therefore from my experiments above I draw the conclusion that I've wasted 15 minutes of my life debating how my mouse is fked. Good night gentlemen.

^^ that means something is wrong wit your sensor.

I have used CH on a piece of paper and it tracks perfectly on that and wood.

Just to recheck i checked the Ergo 525 on piece of paper, black surface, while surface and it tracks perfectly. And its same sensor on both.

That means there is something wrong with your piece and not all CH are like that.

And its not visible light we are talking about here. Its not optical mouse. Its laser mouse. It will work just fine on dark surface. Its just that your piece has gone kaput.

^^ no funky u are wrong.

all laser mice including CH have tracking issues on hard surfaces as we have discussed in another thread here on te. mouse works but bad tracking problems.

@l33t - just try using a cloth pad.

It certainly does not have problem with textured black surfaces, thats what i am using.

No issues on paper too. Genius is even bundling Qck with the Ergos. And i even used it on my old black mat.

i used it on my table, it works perfectly with good tracking.

I dont know about other colours. I have read that it has issues on dark colour surfaces. but i am yet to see it. Ergo is working even on laminated surface.

Haha, I tell ya, at times like these you'd rather want to stick to ball mice :P

Brought the mouse with me to good ol singapura. Turns out these bastards won't take in their mothers into their own homes if they did not have a receipt on them. Picked up a g15 though. Pretty useless. though it does feel good to own a "Per0" keyboard. Wether it makes others go "OMGWTFHAXX!" remains to be seen.

Looks like I'll just have to pick up a mx and a big huge qck (big enough to serve as a doormat). Now could I entice any of you fine gentlemen to provide me cash/kind/alcohol if I snap a picture of what you get when a razer is flung at a wall with more force than a depleted uranium shell hitting a wall?
I swear.. this is the last time I buy shit overpriced stuff from dumbass companies like raze. The tarantula (keyboard) sells for 80sg$'s more than the g-15. Just hope these cunts go bankrupt.

Btw, SG terrible expensive Lah. Squids suck, roast duck smells funny, ministry of sound is good, Bikes are lovalee, the men look like women, the women are too thin to exist. KeKeKe,^^,GLGL^^,mYm FIGHTING!!~, Good night.

whoaaa. extreme are we. why dont you use tips available on razer website (knowledgebase) to improve the performance.
better yet the distributor provides great service. maybe he can helpyou. the contact no is 40053901/11
