Hi guys,

I have used my gigabyte GM6800 for a while now and kinda got bored with it....so im planning on getting a new gaming mouse and i'm confused between 2 products...

Razer's DeathAdder or Logitech's G400

I have recently used my frnd's DA while playing CS 1.6 and it feels awesome but dunno abt G400

What would you guys suggest ??

Also what about a gaming mouse pad ??Could anyone suggest one ?? around Rs500-700

I Mostly play CS 1.6

Thanks

Yash

The gaming mouse pad for you will depend on your comfort level with the surface. In your budget you should get the Razer goliathus control or speed omega/ Steelseries Qck mass. Try both the speed and control version.

It is recommenced that you try the surface before to see which one you feel at ease.

Regarding the mouse, DA is an awesome mouse and you should definitely go for it.

I am DA user. As you said, it feels really awesome for gaming, but many users are complaining about double click issues after prolonged use (not me
<
), also the shopkeepers/dealers encourage only one year warranty for DA, actually razer says its 2 years.

On the other hand Logitech is known for its build quality and warranty(3yrs). G400 is a true successor to MX518 and performs really well. But isnt all that funky as MX518 was. So if looks arent an issue to you, then G400 is must buy.

For CS, Razer goliathus control edition would be in your budget, omega 500/- and standard 750/-

Also, many users arent still aware of Logitech G300, so my new posts will include this link too

Should cost you between 1200/- - 1400/- INR

Thanks for the input guys

One of my buddies has a MX518,i'll try that one as well and probably decide then...

But honsetly,i like how the DA looks with all the *bling bling*

As for the pads,i'll probably get the Omega Speed edition that #chiragsthakur mentioned..

DA doesnt have any Bling Bling
<
, only the glowing light which gets covered once you hold the mouse. My light is OFF mostly, its ON only when some friend comes to visit my place
<

G300 has much more bling bling than DA, but surely DA has got killer looks, palm grip users prefer this.

Well, I forgot to ask you whether you are claw grip player or palm grip player

#chiragsthakur,I prefer using the palm grip if it mean keeping the thumb on the side and the pinky on the ground

Another thing,i used my frnd's MX518 and i really liked it,on the otherhand,i think i would need time getting used to DA's shape

So yea, freaking confusing with one to get

But the main thing remains,Better gameplay and comfortable

so yea, back to sqaure 1...G400 or DA
<

*sigh* Alright then....

I'll still take a few trials on the my buddies DA and MX518 then go for the best one thats good for me....

Thanks chirag

I have the MX518 and as G400 is upgarded version of the MX, I think you cannot also go wrong with it, but its your choice

For mouse pad , the Steelseries Qck+ is a good option

ya well,im more into going for a G400 atm...loved the comfort on MX518,fits my hands properly and works good

Any place i can get a good deal on G400? letsbuy has it for Rs1499 but letsbuy's service has lots of delay with shipping...

Razer DA will definitely conk out in the second year as soon as the warranty is over, better get something with 3yrs warranty, dont worry about letsbuy delays as they are not getting many orders nowadays and ship everything very fast
<

Alright then will go with letsbuy unless i get it for a cheaper price then 1.5k

None of the TE dealer have listed it,will chk with prime n itwares....

True that.

RMA's DA has now started showing double click issues and no warranty left. @OP don't say we didn't warn you.

I will change when it becomes annoying enough.

OT: Which is the next mouse in razer after DA (I am not going to buy it again)?

@Yash: You are gonna love the G400

@challapradtumna:Sit down for a lesson on mouse pads,

there are basically two types: Cloth Pad(Speed & Control types) and Hard Plastic(usually speed types)

Also there are sizes: small large XXL etc

Now for the price difference

Bsically hard plastic pads are pricey(above 1000) while cloth pad (of small to medium sizes) are below 1000

XXL size pads are also abv 1000

Also if the name of pad contains words such as "heavy", "plus" etc it has more thickness(>4mm) and are costly and mostly come in XL sizes

Moreover if it is special edition(printed, BF3 edition, WWCII) etc they are very pricey

Got it! phew....

I am also sorry for hijacking the thread, but I am looking for upgrading my mouse, budget 2500-3200 which one would be good( PS: no razer products)

I got the g300 off prime on deal of the day for 1.1k. wow. simply great for the price, but yeah, its small. and takes a bit long to get used to from my older mx518(dead after 5 years
<
). Though its great on tracking, features and has killer looks with almost no cons, I have a hard time adjusting to the small size. I will probably get a G400 as I like the old MX 518's feel even though its short of features than G300 and is priced more.

Good to hear your take over G400 here....

I'm sureshot on getting the G400 but still confused on where to buy it....

Letsbuy has it at the lowest price i could find....

Flipkart has it for 1K more than letsbuy...so yea still searching for the best deal around the interwebs

#YashBhatt I was using a Razer Salmosa earlier so for me it was more of a win-win deal, the sculpted design [thumb rests] are the best factor and the extra keys are completely free to be assigned for keystrokes, combos et al.

For ~1300/- I don't think you'll get a better mouse. I looked into the Gigabyte M6880, but the build and packaging looked really shenzi.
