Reasons why people hate Apple

I hate apple because many people whom I know, think I am stupid because I do not own an apple device! I own an Samsung P3 which is an excellent for my needs and I spent 7k on it. Then my friend who owns an Ipod nano is like "why did you spend 7k for a samsung product, you could have got an ipod?". This is the same guy who actually purchased an original charger for 1.5k! I think a lot of people hate apple because of the fanboys. It is because of their "it's not a bug, it is a feature!" attitude. This tends get on people's nerves, especially mine.

^ I just ignore idiots :D :P You know the saying right. In any case, to paraphrase Apple, "if the user is an idiot, well, the user is an idiot". I wouldn't say the device is to be blamed for that :)

People who hate Apple products are the people who never used any Apple product. Period.

(NOTE: Applicable in 98% of the cases :P)

Totally agree with ya ,

* How can one hate a company without using any of thier products ??? is that a question or an answer ?

* Most of us like the technology and innovation part of apple products and really appreciate the fact , no doubt about it , But when it comes to the pricing part of it....err no , Open architecture .....err no , India Gets the left over almost a year after the iphone releases Elsewhere and still they expect us to pay a premium when its released locally?? ..... Hate that fact ,

Btw i have used Iphones ( 2g + 3gs) , macbook pro 17 , Mac mini (which i still use as a download rig at times) so im definitely not among the so called 98% claim of yours,

And BTW guys is this a Thread for Venting out your frustration against a company like Apple ??? to make it fair, the thread could have been named " Reasons you Love/Hate Apple" , a company cant be 100% bad afterall

Frankly speaking, Apple hater is a term coined by people who are obsessively fanatical about Apple. It is used to label any one and everyone who is not so fanatical about Apple or even anyone from their own flock who ceased to be fanatical. Even if you have stupidly stood in line for an entire day or two for buying an Apple product, you would still be labeled an Apple hater the moment you express some disappointment/disapproval/criticism about some aspect of the product or Apples after sales service. Any criticism and they would just assume that you don't own the product and label you an Apple hater. In fact there was also the case of an iPad developer who was trampled upon by Apple fans as a Apple hatter and whiner. His crime was that on his blog, he criticized Apples move to not approve a newer version of his app and banning the older versions as well possibly with the intention of releasing a similar in house app. (Essentially stealing his idea). Apple has been stepping on many a developers toes like this, but any one who criticizes them would just be labeled as a hater.

Recently I read about a scientific study where the brain wave patterns of people who are obsessive about Apple products were recorded and analyzed. It was found that the patterns were every similar to those displayed by people who are fanatical about their religion. So most of these fans treat Apple as their religion and they guard it as such. Apple hater is a label similar to what an extremist group like Al Quaida has to say about people who don't share their fanaticism and frankly I wouldn't even be surprised when some day people are start getting killed for criticizing apple.

You believe buying Apple undermines your individuality.

You hate Apple culture.

You've had a bad experience with Apple products.

Apple isn't right for you.

You hate Apple's closed architecture.

Look at all these reasons. If it is any other company other than Apple, people would consider these as reasons for disliking, criticizing, but with Apple these are treated as reasons for 'hating' Apple.

Yes, I have seen the show too - Secret of the Superbrands. Very interesting. It scientifically proves that Apple fanboyism is the same as religious fanaticism, and their purchasing Apple products has very little to do with logical reasoning.

Not my analysis, it is those of scientists.

one of the reason why an iHater is born is an encounter with an iFanboi.

i have hated apple for it being hyped.

but i do not hate an apple device for what it is. Yes you do yet everything in place. and everything 'just works'. it is premium aesthetically too. But is it what everybody looks for in a product?

people using apple are not idiots, not all of them. But some of them are, but that is when you understand that they are praising apple just because they do not know that there is a cheaper and maybe a better alternative for the task they have been praising so much.
But there are also other who are well aware of the options and still choose apple for points mentioned before. I believe it is just as important for them.

but in most cases, it is the hype created by the fanbois.. be it apple or be it android...that is what leads to creation of a hater...
incomplete knowledge is sometimes worse than being a noob.

it is not a fair game to compare in % anymore.

it is not android Vs iOS

android devices range from 5k - 30k and apple has only a few to speak for.

This is about a product that is supposed to replace your laptop, but out of the box, cannot even get files documents/files of a USB Thumb drive without requiring another laptop/computer.

I don't hate Apple as a company, but neither I am I impressed by any of their products (expect maybe for the MBP's which I consider to be the only impressive product line Apple has produced since 1995) as I find most of them rather mediocre and quite often similar or worse then the competition after all the hype they are given. Having tired/used but not bought most of their products (various iPods including the Touch, all iterations of iPhone and iPad's, Macs ranging from G4 based iMac's to the Xeon based Mac Pro's, MB's and MBP's, XServer RAID, Mac OS 9 to Snow Leopard) quite often even before they are released to the public and having development experience on their desktop platforms over over 6 years, I am not naive enough to go and buy them for myself. At the same time, I am all in for developing for their platforms as its rather easy to impress the Apple crowd lately and make them buy apps that they don't even need as long as its on their Apple platform of choice. An example to illustrate that would be how there were a fair number of sales for an iPhone app does nothing (literally and advertised as such) at $999 a copy before it was pulled of the App store. Any company would be envious of Apple for their customer base which can be milked again and again every time a product is released. Also while Jobs can be a real a** hole at times, from a business standpoint, there is no denying him the credit for bringing Apple to this position single handed.

Truely agree with you bro...
It's quality rather quanity

Whatever they say , Apple biggest contribution has been the ipod ! What a device and that has changed the way we listen to music on the go .

Hehehe, this debate never dies.. does it?

I love my android phone, I like my iOS pad too

I love my OS X Macbook Air, I kinda sorta like my windows lappy too..

So why can't we just live and let live :)

And for FWIW, Apple machines do tend to be priced higher by anywhere between hardly any to quite a bit from a pure specs to specs comparison...

However, in most cases, if not all, the cost difference is indeed offset by the sheer build quality and the ergonomics/usability of the final product...
