Guys, I am often travelling between two cities and had made up my mind to read books during the train journey

Please suggest some good fictions - detective, mystery

Cheers

detective, mystery...not my taste...except for dan brown

will esponiage or action do??...if so try

jack higgis...the eagle has landed

anything by fredrick forsyth...except phntom of manhattan and avengers...eg., negotiator, icon or dogs of war

robert ludlum...holcroft convenant, bourne identity

nelson demille...cathedral

archer...11th commandment

sheldon...if tomorow never comes

mathew railey...ice station

WHAT ??? The guy says detective/mystery and nobody mentions Agatha Christie??? That's ridiculous! She is the queen of mystery boyz!

BTW, Edgar Allan Poe/Sir Arthur Conan Doyle(Sherlock Holmes stories)/ Sir Erle Stanley Gardner(Perry Mason stories) are some great writers too!

Although i haven't read Darkly Dreaming Dexter , the TV series based on the novel is awesome so i figure novel ought to be good.

If anybody here has read the novel , plz write a short review. :)

whatever u do...read atleast one arthur hailey book!
preferrably either 'hotel' or 'airport'
u'll find a nu world....

u can also try some fast gunslinging western action....anything by louis l'amour

LOTR is excellent...but if u plan to read only in trains...chances are, u wont be able to finish all 3 books...

for something in the detective/mystrey section..
agatha christie-the murder of roger ackroyd
one of my all time favs...amazing twist at the end!

for italian mafia stuff:
anything by mario puzo:
godfather, the sicillian,the last don,omerta...

if u have some inclination to law, pik up a john grisham

jeffery archer is another genius
his short stories books are jus mindblowing: cat o' nine tails/quiver full of arrows
even other books are excellent:kane and abel/the prodigal daughter/shall we tell the president...these three make a series.
'the fourth estate' is another great work.

if u like international politics go for tom clancy
the hunt for red october is a great book
