hey ppl,
I am a big fan of Linkin Park,Lost prophets and Green day..the thing i like abt them is that though they fall in the rock category they are still melodious and they dont keep shouting at the top of their voices :P.
I would like you all to recommend me some songs of the same genre.
Other artists/Bands which i listen occasionally include Evanescence,P.O.D,Papa Roach...so i guess that should give u all some idea regarding my tastes.
thank you..

lost prophets - last train home , start something, make a move , goodbye tonight i liked :)

These arent hard or grind and majority of their tracks do constitute your taste.

Edit: Well, KOЯN, Inflames, Tool etc. would be completely alientic for this guy. No harm in trying them though.

not sure if this would fall into your category, but still worth listening to this.

Finger Eleven
A Perfect Circle

Explosions in The Sky

^^Anathema is doom metal with a progressive touch... nothing goth about them. Great band, nevertheless... I'm not into modern rock, but if you guys want to hear real metal, get a hold of: Arch Enemy, Amorphis, At The Gates, Soilwork, Gardenian, Carcass, Dark Tranquility, Nevermore, Defleshed, God Dethroned, Hypocrisy, Behemoth, Hammerfall, Lockup, Opeth.... the list goes on. All mostly melodic deathmetal.

@Rio dont teach me..
Anathema is in my blood.
Anathema is Gothic metal:
Link proof:
NEW Goth Metal World - your gate to the dark side - Content - Bands - Bands - A -

Whats written in that link:
Anathema is one the most prominent doom/gothic bands, a true musical phenomena that took the English metal scene by storm and imposed a unique style that many have followed and tried to copy. Anathema come from Liverpool, and were the creation of Vinnie, and the brothers Cavanagh, Danny and Jimmie.

Hope to clear ur doublts

Well there's no real dividing line between doom and goth so Anathema and lots of other such bands can be classified as either depending upon who's classifying :P. Well what they call unique style is nothing but a few songs in typical prog rock scales thrown in.

PS: I really like that band... atleast its original.

yes its awesome band specialy the songs like:
Dying wish
pulled under at 2000 meters a sec
are you there
childhood dreams
restless oblivion
the silent enigma
forgotten hopes
closer
balance
inner silence
empty
all are nice ones !!
listen to them a lot in a day

why isnt RiO speaking now  :bleh:

Probably because I'm not on TE all the time? Anyway, I'm not arguing with someone who needs a website to convince himself (and others) how bands are classified under the different styles of metal :P I do so by just listening to bands ;) Don't waste your time giving me more metal lessons, while you were listening to backstreet boys I was running a metal site lol.

EDIT: Let's not take this further, it's someone else's thread... I'd be happy to discuss/debate anything related to metal in your thread or via PM :)

thx for the quick reply guys..i will try to get as many songs as i can of the names mentioned :D ..till then keep the suggestions coming :P

Very mature reply... if it's any indication of your maturity wrt music, I'll walk away because I believe in this quote: "Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience."

You stumped me with your last reply, and now I'm beat - later!
