Android Redmi 12 5g/ Poco m6 pro 5g released - a return to form

then what is the difference then? why launch 2 same phones?
The obvious explanation could be the different base variants, distinct back panels, and a slight pricing difference between the two. Furthermore, Poco has a horrible reputation for faulty hardware, so to promote sales, Xiaomi released identical twins; one of them is sold exclusively on Amazon and the other on Flipkart. Xiaomi has been doing this for a long time now.

Poco is predominantly an online brand. Xiaomi is everywhere. If you notice, poco phones are consistently priced cheaper. If they had only one brand, retailers would complain about online sales undercutting their sales and ask for even more b2b discounts. Now that the poco m6 pro is a different model, nobody will complain even if it's priced substantially cheaper than the redmi except a few of us enthusiasts who notice. This is a strategy followed by several brands ( tp link a6 vs c6, Epson l315x models) it lets each retailer claim they have the cheapest product and if it's exclusive to them, they don't have to worry about price matching. If you want to know more about why etc, you're getting into some very hardcore sales strategy. Google for channel conflict and mitigation strategies

Apparently these are happening without software updates as well. Not sure how software updates can ruin the display to begin with but there's that.
Mi and Poco phones were supposedly overheating after updates (the original Poco X3 Pro fiasco). That overheating in confined space was supposedly causing other components placed near the heat source to fail.

But this was just a conjecture. Not sure if something similar is happening to these displays as well.
