Reduce Win xp Bot speed by 2-4 seconds

hey i think most of u mite know dis but if u dnt try it out
it disables the windows xp boot animation
go to "my computer" properties
go to advance tab
select start up and recovery
go to settings
edit start up options manually
now
add this at the end of "fastdetect/"
"SOS"
save it
shud be like dis:
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect/SOS
 
ok sorry to ask... i did some research and found out myself..

To disable the Windows XP splash screen (logo) at startup, and to see the list of drivers loading at startup, follow these steps:

Click Start, Run and type MSCONFIG

Click the Boot.ini tab

Under Operating Systems section, select the appropriate entry and then enable the /SOS switch in the Boot Options section below

Click OK and close MSCONFIG utility.

The corresponding entry in the Boot.ini file is automatically added. Example given below:

multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(5)\WINDOWS="XP Professional" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect

becomes

multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(5)\WINDOWS="XP Professional" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect /sos

The /sos parameter displays the names of the drivers as they load during the boot process. Use when startup fails (while loading drivers) to determine which driver is failing to load.


so basically all it does is show u the loaded drivers... just like a safe mode boot... no speed up no nothing... it just reduces the time the logo is shown... and replaces it wit the driver list...
