Regarding Hathway Boxes, aren't they best ?

I'm using hathway and tatasky both from almost a year.

The cable operator came my home this weekend and changed the setup box for free into a new one.

He takes around 300 rs a month and I get cable into my 4 TV's with hathway boxes (for what he charged 500 initially) and I get all the channels needed. Not to object, but cable guys always get all the channels initially then it comes DTH.

What I most liked about this setup box was the SPDIF output it had. I was almost shocked to see it and a tatasky/bigtv/dish tv doesn't have.

The sound quality is excellent and my logitech z-5500 and onkyo reciever picks it up very well.

Why shouldn't we go for hathway cable setup boxes rather than tata sky n all ?

The cable television headends are going all out to limit the loss in customer base to the dth operators. This is especially true for metros. The headend operators and their franchisee cable operators are leaving no stone unturned in order to retain their subscribers. I won't be surprised if they start offering discounts and offers soon. In our town though, its a different story. The cable operators are running like a cartel and mafia.

erm forgot this topic actually.

i'll get pic and model number. although channel changing has gone slower and epg is not updating. but that are services, in terms of quality its good !
 
Hathway initially didn't have a functional EPG. Then for a while it was good. Updated with short synopses of each program. Now it's again back to no information (except the show names).
 
^^ even in Tata Sky , around half the channels dont have a functional EPG , it just says No information available , all news channels + music channels + sports channels dont have it , only movie and some lifestyle channels have it
 
Even I hv got the HUMAX ND-1000C:(

But the picture quality and sound quality is way better than normal cable,the software of the setop box got updated on 21st Jan and this has added many features to the box like 4 days advanfe epg and remainder prior it was just one day,the volume has increased and many other things.

And yes hathway has already introduced the dvr set top box I saw the ad of it on the set top box main menu.
