Reliable NGOs to rescue and help destitute/homeless

This might not be the best place to seek help. However, I have tried to approach multiple NGOs (Non-Government Organization), and everyone has ignored.

I have witnessed a few homeless people. These could also be called destitute. Most of them are women and their conditions is very bad.

These people don't seem mentally unstable or dangerous. However, they are living on the streets in horrible conditions without access to food, water, clothing, and shelter. The Monsoons are brutal, and so are the Winters for these people without any shelters. They either wander the streets or sit quietly as the world ignores them. I haven't seen them begging. But it is painfully obvious that they need immediate help and medical attention.

I have been looking online for Rescue agencies that help destitute or homeless men/women. I tried contacting a few of them. However, everyone (except one) ignored my emails. The sole agency that responded, refused to help, claiming they are "full" and have a long backlog to clear. It seems agencies that have an online presence, and come up in Google search, don't want to actually lend a helping hand.

I am requesting Tech-Enclave members to post contact details of agencies that can help destitute people. I am currently looking for agencies that can rescue people outside the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, in Maharashtra. However, members can also post information about rescue agencies from other regions and states as well. Together, we could build a database of agencies that truly help; and aren't running a business of collecting funds via donation.

Contact details could include the name of the Organization, the name of the concerned person(s), phone, email, address, website, and any other relevant information.
If anyone is aware or knows someone in the Government, that would help too. The aim is to have a readily available and contactable army of volunteers and agencies to help the destitute and prevent deaths.

If you are looking in Gujarat/Surat area, then Mr. Popatbhai Ahir has been doing a very good job there. He has a ngo named Popatbhai Charitable Foundation. He rescues homeless and mentally disturbed/disabled people from streets.
Do check out his videos on youtube and instagram -

Mithra in Chennai

Intellectually disabled (previously/colloquially known as mental retardation) children and teens.

Physically disabled (previously/colloquially known as handicapped) children and teens.

A significant number of their inmates are intellectually disabled children/teens who are also physically disabled.

It was begun by a Christian nun from Australia and is now managed by a council of members.

I do not know the day to day running of operations or how much swindling goes on within the organization (which definitely happens in every organization), but I have personally seen them care for the inmates multiple times, including during unannounced visits.

The inmates are bought up in a typical Christian fashion but they accept children from all faiths and all genders without any discrimination.

Considering the mental capacity and age, I have not heard of any incidents of sexual abuse of the inmates.

For more details - mithra.org.in

Will personally vouch for authenticity.

@mods requesting to make this thread sticky.
It could help many homeless/destitute, and also those who want to help but can't find reliable NGOs/agencies that work for the betterment of the society.

this is the main reason why Current Govt. cancel 1000's of NGO License, as they are doing EVERYTHING other than what they are register themselves for.

Hence, I created this thread.
Many Tech-Enclave members may have had experience with NGOs that are genuinely helping people.
It is currently impossible to get information about genuine and dedicated agencies. Hence, I am requesting Mods to make this thread Sticky, which would increase the exposure in the long term.
We need a database of trustworthy agencies with proven track record. Google or other search engines aren't useful in this noble endeavor.
