Rent a Console ?

I mean , I have heard of renting games. . but is renting consoles possible in INDIA ?

Specifically in pune ? :S

Didnt find much info on it online.

Why doesnt some1 start a business out of this :P
 
Shipping a disc is one thing, but the whole console is a really big deal. Let's assume they were to start such a service, how much do you feel would be an ideal rental charge?

I'm just asking, as I wanted other peoples thoughts on this as well.
 
i think Rs.750/- per week should be a ideal price and should be done locally only, but still i think renting a console is a bad idea cause even if we take some deposit amount from a customer which can be about 2k, still the customer can run away with the console and the cust will be in profit.
 
^if done properly with documents theft can be avoided.

I used to rents 16bit consoles when I was in school from a neighbor game parlor.
 
Renting a console would be a bad idea even if the dealer was to pay one-way shipping expenses. Insane renting charges being one, what would you do for the titles? You are better off borrowing it from a friend rather.

IF he decides to lend you one i.e. :P
 
I used to get console rental service in ahmedabad,,they used to give ps2 for rent on one night with 5 game services.200 bucks for 1 day..Its not a bad idea - at-least user can experience the console before buying it or if some want to organize a xbox party or somethig
 
dude in pune u can rent ps3's from a guy called babu in bhwani peth..he probably rents 360's also..he charges 300 for a ps3 for 12 hours + he gives some games also!! for another 300 u can also rent a 42 inch tv from him ..

Does he offer a chick for another 300 and perhaps a cozy place for another 300 to hang around with the leet stuff? :rofl:

You could also contact SaReGaMa on M.G. Road. He might have consoles to rent out, or he may direct you to the correct person.

So within 1k I can get one ps3+42 inch tv for 1 day and can have a hell of a weekend :hap2: great service
 
WTF! such a service exists in pune and i only hear about it now? more info on this please. Name/Address/Contact number... something.
 
1k for PS3 & 42incher is awesome.

I remember I use to rent PS1 for 200rs with 4 games for 8hrs but there's always been some waiting time as the consoles were rent out.

Such service should be offered in Mumbai as well, it will definitely click.
 
Considering most games would take at least a few days to complete. It might work out a lot cheaper to buy the console (wouldn't it?). Unless you are looking to play some specific game on this.

How much would the rent for the 42" LCD alone come to?

this model will work for a co-op/multiplayer game parties -where you want to add-up more consoles to play some mp mayhem or some FIFA/takken/SVR kind of games with friends

i dunno abt just the tv alone..i just got to know abt this few days back when some college ppl had rented 2 ps3's and lcd's for two days for our college event!!

just curious how much would 1 rent an xbox360 with a 250gb hdd loaded with all the latest games for a week its jtaged so u never have to load a game dvd to play. About 40 latest games loaded
