hey guys unexpectedly my laptop's nvidia gpu failed yet again , though it lasted a good 3 years but still i did not pay 50k for a laptop to die on me in 3years

worst part -i am out of warranty and everything else works perfect but the nvidia gpu ... what should i do ? btw i have the dreaded Nvidia 8400m GS.

1) pay dell rs. 18500 for a 2year warranty + mobo replacement

2) sell it to croma for 3k

3) get it locally repaired (if anyone has had the same issue resolved)

i'm at bangalore so please suggest local solutions for point 3.

Wow so after a long tussle of two weeks i've finally been granted a motherboard replacement courtesy dell.

major props to Ryan sir for helping in articulating my thoughts and Fenix sir for suggesting the case escalation route , thanks a lot guys.
 
curse my luck , got the motherboard (received by my flatmate) but turns out it's the same A01 Rev and a refurb , which is already installed on my laptop ... mailed again to change it with A04 Rev which is supposed to be the latest one , lets see what happens.
 
Theres no practical difference between A04 and A01 apart from BIOS version,

There shouldnt be any issues whatsoever, A01 and A04 are only lot names and more a batch naming nothing else, you will get refurb only regardless of what, even if you were ready to pay to get a new one you wouldnt, its EOL

Axx #s are only lot names which in turn mean latest bios version with higher the number which you can do from support site

if i were you, i would take the motherboard, something is better than nothing,
 
thanks ryan sir that was explained to me by the support exec. aswell , i've finally got the mobo replaced with the refurb here's hoping it'll last for another 2-3 years enough for me to sell the laptop and get a new. but what i also think is since refurbs are being provided so certainly there are repairs to the issue with dell so if could get this issue repaired incase i face it in future that would be great.
