My laptop's screen has gone kaput. Actually the display come but he backlight has gone. It's something like a mobile screen going in power saving mode. can this be repaired??
how much will be the damage???

Most probably your Laptops LCD screen invertor has gone bad. Common problem with Laptops. I got mince Dell repaired at local shop in Nehru Place for 1400

I got a old ATI Powercolor X700 Pro 128 MB GPU , which gives lines on the monitor during display.

The problem occurred last year when I tired to mount a thermalright heatsink on it and bent the card.

Since then it is lying in the box.

The Issue Is That Either The Inverter Of The TFT Is Gone Bad Or The Lamp Inside Is Gone Bad .In Very Rare Cases the Motherboard Could Have a Issue .The Lamp And The Inverter Can Be Definately Replaced/Repaired .

hi there.. well i have the ipod 5g version the old one (30 gb) the problem is that the ipod gets hung often then i have to wait for the batt to drain to get it restarted , i think there are bad sectors on the pod wht can be done??.. often i do hear noises from the hdd inside!!even copying data is a problem.. do tell me wht has to be done and hw much approx would it cost

i have an Chinese Mp4 Player which fell down and its kaput. The srceen etc are not damaged., i jst opened to see whats wrong, some 2 soldering points seem to be undone. If you want i can send you pics.

hi Amarbir can you repair my laptop , the keyboard is gone bad its a Gateway laptop there aren't any support centers in India , i tried to cleanup the laptop when i accidently dropped off some ash on it ,while i was disassembling the laptop i guess i broke the pin which makes sure the KB is intact on the board. The lappy works perfectly fine except that i cant use the KB ,right now i am using an external KB .I am ready to ship the entire lappy as i do not wanna break some thing else.

I have a Fujitsu Laptop, from the last month or so, it does not start properly.

When I press the start button, the power lcd comes on, looks like the system is booting, but no display. I tried connecting a external display to it, still nothing

When I power up the system, the CAPS lock works, HDD light blinks.

If I remove the battery and power supply and fiddle with it for some time, only sometimes it starts, most it does not

But when it starts it works perfectly, no problem what so ever. But If i restart the system, again it dies on me

What could be wrong?

Edit 1: I did some more troubleshooting, remove and both the rams and inserted them 1 by 1, even with single ram in either of the slots the same result
Also remove the WiFi module but no luck

It seems the system is booting into windows, but not getting any display

The laptop has a ATI Gfx card

Edit 2: The laptop has a DVI and s-video out, tried connecting a monitor to the DVI out, no use

The laptop does not start now. Only LEDs come one, caps and all work
