Laptops Replace laptop screen?

Hello!

The screen on my HP Dv5000 broke( there are two round black circles in the lcd and the screen's cracked(the glass/plastic front) )

First is it possible to replace the screen? Is is worth doing it?
and would anybody know how much it would cost..

dont be surprised to get a 20-22k quote from HP authorised service station!!!:@ :@ (they gave the same to my friend for his HP DV2000 series lap) if u stay in mumbai its should cost u around 14k @ lamington, if u think its worth changing the screen u could do it or use the lap as a desktop by attaching a monitor@ VGA port!!!!:rofl:
 
check ur local market for a laptop repair guy. The unofficial ones :) THose will be the ones to use. Official repair isnt worth the price they charge :P

This is exactly What I did with my Lappy after the Screen Crash.

Mine was 12 inch laptop by Averatec ( Bought in uk )

I plan to get cheap LCD replacement on my Next visit to US so you can ask any friend coming here from US to get it for you or you can purchase on line and get it shiped by Fedex as mentioned above

@varkey Thanks for that link! I didn't know HP guys would them self fix it! shall look into that! Oh btw, what brand display does HP use?

I currently have a spare CRT.. so using that.. shall see if it's more economical to get a new lappy!

i got my friends laptop screen changed at lamington road for rs 10500 with 1 year warranty and bill and that person i know him so i can recomend him,if you want to do it from my person at lamington road kindly let me know through pm

if any one one wants to get their HP laptops repaired u can contact me .. i know Hp service in thane very well can get screens replaced at v good price :P just got a Dv2000 service tag dv2000Tu screen replaced
