Hi,

We guys on airtel connection in bangalore are getting arnd 300 pings to sg svrs and have been trying to sort this out with the airtel peeps in the backend. Now the airtel guys have requested us to provide them with screenshots of traceroutes to the svrs

Code:
203.81.44.244

203.81.39.59

I request people getting arnd 100 pings to these servers from ISP's other than airtel (From anywhere in INDIA, not just Bangalore) to please post a screenshot of the traceroute to these 2 servers. That wld help us resolve this issue soon.

If u dun knw how to do a traceroute, then this is wht u have to do:

Go to command prompt and type

tracert 203.81.44.244 for the first svr and once the trace is done, take a screenshot and post here. Similarly for the second svr too.

Please people with sify, tata, bsnl and other connections getting arnd 100 pings post ur screenshots.

Waiting eagerly for the screenshots :hap2: :hap2:

Thx!!

P.S. : We need the traceroute screenshot and not the ping screenshot.. both screenies will b fine but make sure u include the traceroute screenshot.

It wont improve for you re....

From the tracert i can see that you are almost ~60ms to Mumbai and from there on to sg. Its the same for us ppl (Bangalore Tata.... they have only 1 Intl gateway to SG it seems, the SG-> Mumbai trunk)

So 60ms + mumbai and 68 ms from mumbai to SG. 130ms.... there you go.

lol dude, I'm on airetl and its pinging 80 ms. I'm in blore and I think the airtel guys have already fixed your problem. Get them to fix my routing to vstreet and fs too. Pretty pleaseee. :P

hmmm..the tracert doesnt complete but the pings are good..around 100 -110ms

Josh, I'm also on Tata Indicom Pune, but I seem to be getting a lot higher pings. Is there any way this can be fixed through the router settings itself ?

tataQqua.gif

As i suspected..all the bangalore airtel ips' with 122.*.*.* Ips' are getting ~60 latency to sg & ~80 latency to Hong Hong & ~90 to malaysian servers..:P . .

I just hope this continues..no one has reported any other ip range since 2 days to me..lol

Your modem is running in [SIZE=-1]Interleaved mode. Thats why the first hop (see the 26 ms to 210.211.241.1?) is 26ms and thus everything gets fCC after that. Contact your ISP and tell them to change your mode to Fast Mode. If you are manager is well versed that will get changed, or else they will ask you to restart your computer (to fix the ping ofcourse.)[/SIZE]

Its very simple re.... Airtel capacity is reaching its limit (earlier the single pipe to SG from Bangalore used to be enough.)

Hence they are sourcing bandwidth from different gateways and hence if you manage to fall under some other gateway, your pings will obviously be bad. I guess there was some problem with the Airtel West Gateway (the route via USA, mostly taken from Reliance) and thus all traffic got routed through the SG gateway and hence the drop in pings. I hope it continues.
