hmmmm... we certainly dont want to do anything like that intentionally. Definitely not for that paltry sum. Not even for a good sum for that matter. Hope to keep TE unbiased.thebanik said:though this is completely my personal opinion, based not upon any statistics but the general feeling i am getting from different posts from different mods that, Dealers are being given undue favour, why? just coz they are paying a paltry sum to TE????? Is TE becoming Ebay for enthusiasts????

some dealers do ask you to register and make the order from their own site. That means register, (in their site) place order from their site and all that.. is that allowed?Funky said:If a particular dealer is found to be using cheap tactics to make buyers buy from his personal site than through TE GOs, we might have something to think about.......

imo thats a total waste of time.. atleast for me I would see it as a waste of time.

That was indeed a waste of time.

katmandude said:The dealer you are talking about is what drove me away from the other forum too. If you see my participation is the last one week has gone down drastically. After all the lies, the deceit and the havoc he created on the other forum...its all forgotten and he is allowed to resume back to normal like nothing ever happened. I had decided to focus my efforts on TE of late and its really sad to see that he has made it here too as a registered dealer.
There are a lot of things on the other forum that have started to annoy me lately and I just hope and pray that TE does not become the same and keep a much more vigilant watch on GO's organized by both members and dealers. You are absolutely right...you have every right to voice your opinion if you feel the price is not justifiable enough to start a GO for it and you should raise your voice. There should be a check on just a hardware store being started on tech forums with numerous GO's that include every product the guy has in his store. That is not needed on a tech forum. Most people here are tech enthusiasts and know where to get their everyday stuff that will be available at their nearby shop. Which is why I focus only on items that are hard to find or are unique in nature. Yes, I do have GO's for stuff that is available locally, most of which is sold at the same price I buy them for...like the games, the Ep-630's and yes, even the MX-518. These products are however carefully chosen as the targets because of their popular demand from the members themselves.
Question .Sei said:+1 on this. I agree that if you are a registered dealer you are free to run your deals but this does not mean that you make TE an extension of your online store website.
For Mr X who already has a store and just wants to get more buyers, he makes a "GO" and gets lots of buyers, 1500 bucks per month is no big deal. The main downside to this is that the deals section becomes so cluttered that its almost impossible to browse. If the person already has a store and already sells HDDs, Motherboards, graphic cards, cpus, RAM sticks, he creates a "GO" for each and every product there is!:bshit:
Secondly, we see multiple GO's for same products with just a difference of 50-100 bucks in both.
Lastly, this is a tech forum. Even though I may not be visiting and posting as much as other members such as Bikey, I do visit often and would love the site to be as it was and is till now. I don't want this site to be mainly a shopping site with a few threads regarding technology.

Mods have to take some decision regarding this as this seriously undermines all the efforts taken over the years by you guys to keep the site absolutely running fabulously.
