Right now the Philips 5106k seems to be a gr8 option, since other models i.e. 5150 and 5140k are not to be found on stores shelfs. I personally use the 5106k and its touchwood uptil now. Only issue it has are playing packed bit stream Xvid files which can be solves easily by using MPEG4Modifier.
Second that.
Been using the 5106k myself for abt 5-6 months now... no problems whatsoever.
It plays DivX, it plays XviD, it even plays XviD encoded with Q-Pel feature on.
Only issue as Blade_Runner mentioned is playback of packed bitstream stuff. But that can be fixed by MPEGModifier in minutes.

Hi!

There is a new Pioneer DVD player out which also plays DivX. Its about Rs3500 in the grey market. If you are looking for something cheaper, for about Rs2000 you can get a chinese one which plays DivX and Xvid flawlessly.

Can you please mentioned Brand Name/Number etc.
In fact maximum Electronics product we purchase in India is Made By China.

The cheap one doesn't carry warranty as dealer didn't include warranty cost in MRP.

Other Branded Company include warranty cost and thus the price for branded product increase, but the quality is same what we buy for cheap.

Make me correct if I am wrong.
