Yeah its out. Here is the bad news from what I hear-

1 No mouse support at all. Only gamepad or Keyboard. Don't have a game pad? Try aiming with the keyboard. How ****ed up is that? What am I playing, Virtua freaking cop?

2 It actually manages to look worse (read again worse) than the PS2 version. Which itself looked worse than the Gamecube version.

3 No way to tweak graphics to make it look better. No way to add AA, AF, VS, Shadows etc. All you can do is change the resolution.

4 No extras for the PC version. All the game offers is the PS2 extras.

Really shoddy port.

Here are the comparision screenshots. PC on Top. PS2 version at bottom.

Sorry I am a bit of a n00b here so I don't know how to post a screenshot. Use the linkies.

The HD version was released few days back & honestly I would still prefer the third party modded version. From the looks of it the later seems better. For those who have never played this game (if there are any) can try it now on pc without worrying much about the visuals!

A nine year old thread wow. Never played any Resident Evil games, would this be a good place to start?
Its a blockbuster hit game!:D Best in the series. Buy it. It will worth every penny you spend on it. If the steam version seems costly get the original version its cheap & mod it. I think that will look better than the new version. I am surprised you haven't played any resident evil game!
Btw let other RE lovers comment on it too.:)

I hadn't played a single Resident Evil game prior to Resident Evil 4 either. This would certainly be a good game to start off with. It's one of the best survival horror games out there. To play it in true HD form is certainly a blessing. I still remember enjoying the shit out of it when I got it on the Playstation 2. I also remember Quan Chi kept bombarding me post after post about this game over on Digit forum and I used to describe how incredible this game was.

Yeah it was indeed a masterpiece by capcom as some people describes it. As a matter of fact I finished that game twice with both hard and hardest difficulty. Overall around 95% was completed including mercenaries challenges etc etc.
Coming to the mods. I am pretty confident that the modded version still looks far better than this HD release.

Unfortunately, the user mods could not enhance the cut-scenes. They tried to fuse the GameCube version's movies, but it still didn't hold up. My brother ended up playing the PSN re-mastered edition and that had much cleaner, albliet upscaled cut-scenes. Apart from that, yes, the in-game visuals were enhanced 10 folds compared to it's original release.

Yeah I had downloaded the cutscene mod too.Still it was far better than the original crappy one.
Anyways if i get time i will try to compare both the versions. I think they have eliminated those black bars this time (good for those who felt it was annoying).
