Android Restore whatsapp backup to a new phone no ?

Is it possible that the whats app chat messages backup saved on a phone internal memory/ sd card can be restored to a new phone no?

Can i do a factory reset, then change the sim & restore from sd card ?

or can i restore these in bluestacks without having the phone no .

2. There is an option in whatspp in settings to migrate to a new phone number

Setting -> Account -> Change Number

PS - Please take backup of Whatsapp Chat ... Setting -> Chat Setting -> Chat Backup

After i change the no what happens to the old no , is the old no deleted from the whatsapp records ? I dont want to receive any messages from people who had the old no in their whatsapp contacts .

Yes, old no. is deleted from whatsapp records and the people having your old number will not be able to see you in their whatsapp contacts.
