What is the best course of action? My Budget is Strictly limited to 40k. Which chipset to go for? AM4 or AM5 or LGA 1700? Depending on the chipset/RAM the above specified Combos are coming for ranging between 33k (Intel 12400 Combo) to 35k (Intel 1440 Combo) 38k (AMD i7 5700X3D Combo) to 40k (AMD i5 7600 Combo). Because my present AM4 chipset is giving several errors causing BSODs, Restarts & Freezes. Should I go with Intel LGA 1700 based 12400 or 14400 processors because I am afraid of getting the same above errors due to AMD platform but I don't know about AM5 platform errors. So you have to tell me whether AM5 platform is working without getting any errors or not like the above ones specified in my AM4 setup. I intend to use these parts purchased now for another 4-5 years minimum. I am also thinking of changing my present CPU cooler since it does not have a AM5 Bracket. Can we overclock all above specified processors & underclock them as well? Does the above specified motherboards which have only 2 RAM slots enough for Gaming for at least 3 hours daily along with browsing or watching HD movies? All parts will be purchased online from sellers mentioned in pcpricetracker.in. Please clarify my doubts. Sorry for a lengthy questionnaire. Thanks.

You can build a bare minimum R5 7600 + 32GB RAM + B650M mobo under 40k, 45k for something better. R7 5700X3D has similar gaming performance to R5 7600, so no point in AM4 (if your mobo was a working B550, would have been a different case).

This has a better mobo than the 11k options, so better VRMs & a 3rd M.2 slot as major benefits. The better VRM can handle even the successor of 9800X3D easily.

I think if I can increase my budget to 45k then I can get AM5 Combo with budget CPU Cooler also.
Since I have Galax Rev.3 mATX case I choose mATX Mobo.
This config is good I think so right!
Get the 5070 GPU first. Decide on upgrade once you see if and how much of bottleneck 5600 is. Would not recommend AM4 now. Better go with AM5.
This 5600x which I have right now is not at all stable with the motherboard I am using as I don't know what is causing the restarts or BSODs sometimes.

I was in similar situation last year and opted AM5. That leaves you with some room for future upgrades. LGA 1700 was nearing EOL in 2024 itself.

Though I agree with this. Do note that the Bottleneck can be from the PCI 3.0 on the specified Mobo vs PCI 5 supported 50xx . Wish there was some extensive testing on finding how much does the PCI bottleneck from previous gens is,to support my claims. I would love to hear from anyone on this.

Won't matter. The performance difference between Gen 3.0 and Gen 5.0 on the 5090 is 1-4%. Even more insignificant for lower-tier.

Am4 is just fine bro... You can find ddr4 cheap and go all out with 64gb ram with the cost of ddr5 32gb.. on avergae multicore r23 score of 5600 is 11.5k and of a 7600 is around 14k...

You will not miss much.. am4 b550 is a lot cheaper too. So you basically paying more but not getting a huge upgrade over the last gen.. just invest in nicer gpu and get a am4 setup. Trust me that 64gb ram will do you nice when you need it. Go with 5700x with the same price or lower of 7600's price.. you get more cores, good for creating VM and other core heavy tasks.

I believe you can get 5900x at around 20k

He's looking for a change, because his current setup is unstable, without knowing the root cause. No solution to resolve it has worked.

Nonsense, Wont need it for a long time unless one has specific work usecase. 32gb is more than enough. Give example, which game needs more than 32gb ram to function ?
If you are not gonna reuse components, then AM5 seems better path.

That said, if he could somehow diagnose which component is faulty, then may not need to upgrade everything. He already tested psu, ram and UPS i think so cpu/motherboard/some cable? could be the cause.

I was going to recommend selling your processor and GPU and buying 5700x3D + the best GPU you could afford right now (after subtracting the cost of 5700x3D from your budget) as the upgrade this way would have been super easy but if your motherboard is giving out (and really confirm its your motherboard that causing this and not something like RAM or SSD) then I recommend you switch to AM5 platform.

You already have an issue since long with AMD build, why not try Intel (headache free setup).
With AMD you may have upgrade capability with same Board but with headache of system stability.
Build Intel, use as you can, if requires some upgrade, sell Processor & Board and buy new, may be little expensive option compare to AMD but can use system without issue till it suffice your needs.

Intel have had stability issues in the past so it's not headache free always.

You can continue using the setup since you're on a 1440p monitor.
Just sell your 6600xt and get something like a used 6700xt/6800xt or 3060Ti and you're good for another 2 years.
