I am referring to format/install on Windows on C drive (due to some issue)
and I have all my installed games on D drive

In normal cases, OS reinstall will make all those install unusable because of registry change

Is there any way/software which will help me reinstate all games in same state as it was before OS install, without having need to reinstall them.

Hope you understood my query

I formatted my C:\ drive and reinstalled windows and still previously installed games like NFS MW, Carbon and GTA SA are still working. Even Age of empires 3 and it's expansion packs are working fine. When I first started AOE 3 for each aoe3.exe, aoe3x.exe & aoe3y.exe, the game asked for serial key on inserting that it started working normally.

The only games that were giving me a problem were the ones from Ubisoft viz., Brothers In Arms: Road to Hill 30 and DMC 3. Deleted the installed folder and reinstalled it. Now it is working fine.

So you need not reinstall all games neither is there a software to reinstate the games. Just try starting the game if they don't work then you might have to install it.

P.S.: I always use cracks for my games. If the games don't try using cracks for the games.

I forgot about backing up saved games. Some saved games are present in the game folder itself, some are present in "My documents" and some rare games keep their saved games in "C:\Documents and settings\User\Local Settings\Application Data". Example for the last type NFS Undergrounf 2.

Yes, having backup of saved games is must from C drive.

Because most games have their saves/profile under DocumentsAndSettings. Those can be copied after reinstall of OS

But I am talking about a snapshot of games w.r.t OS , so a new OS when reinstalled, just run of that tooll will get all games back in its previous state.

This would a great option than a cumbersome step of resintalling all games, trust me, its a real pain.

Game Rips will not have a problem with OS reinstall, But proper installs will.

i don't think Cracks will help in this regard because it cant restore missing registry links.

Most games do run after reinstallation of windows but some don't. For those that don't, reinstallation will be required. But such games are very few so I won't mind reinstalling them.

Considering the fact that the more games (applications) you install the more are the registry entries and the system's performance gets affected. With large resources nowadays this performance may be negligible but still if I can avoid that, why not?

And the best part is when you want to uninstall such games "Shift+Del".

some games work even after reinstalling windows. but some do not. most of the todays games do not since they bcome too integrated into the registry

its better to have the setup file in order to reinstall
