Final Words

Almost everyone likes a story where the little guy wins - David beats Goliath. The little guy comes up with a unique and useful product or tops the Performance charts with a new chipset. Certainly, the ULi M1695/M1567 is just such a success story.

Many buyers were begging for a PCIe board that would also support AGP, without compromise. Lots of companies tried and the market ended up with a lot of compromised solutions that didn't catch on. It took ULi to finally build the chipset that made top-performing AGP on a PCIe board a reality.

More than that, the ULi M1695/M1567 chipset does not need to apologize to any other chipset in its performance. The ASRock 939Dual-SATA2 shows a retail product that is as good, or even better, than the ULi Reference Boards that excited those sites that actually bothered to look at the ULi chipset with an open mind.

Yup. This board is good. I heard about it 1 month back.
Good for people stuck only upgrading Mobo and CPU but not the Gfx Card :P.

this wud be a boon for Indian markets , lesser price---lesser price diff between the Indian and American markets , besides ASRock is substantially present in the Indian market , and the best part , for a single PCIe slot user it gives amazin benchies , infact sometimes better than the humble NF4 DFI Ultra D . way to go ;).

Welll this is nothing... Uli had a chipset for AGP=SLI yes you read it right.... Anandtech had reviewed the same chipset earlier... I am waiting for that... Stuck with a 6800 GT(AGP ofcourse)...

We wrote the BIOS for this MB ( American Mega Trends. here in chennai) :hap2: , though i never manually worked in this project

so is this mobo readily available over here in india?? wat price?? anyone using it....

so its good to buy right? i can stick with my current agp card and then upgrade to pcie (R520 :P) whenever i want and set it up on the mobo..?????

Yea you can but i would advise you to wait for better manufacturers to make mobo's on the same chipset.. Look for something from Gigabyte as they are making a mobo on the same chipset... Also ULI might come up with AGP + SLI now how good will that be...

aceman, I have just ordered the board yesterday. I have a few questions. After reading some reviews today I noticed something I didn't know before. I was under the impression that the board would do 1.55 vcore. Well this is only for FX chips as I am sure you know. For regular A64 it will only do a max of 1.45. I was interested if yall plan on doing any updates for the board in order to have high vcores? This would be great if yall would. Also, the vdimm voltage is only like high and normal or something like that. Is there going to be a change to a numerical version? Just interested I have downloaded the newest ULI drivers and the 1.21 bios for the board. I cant wait to get the board in. I also ordered a 3200+ venice E6. I plan on doing some serious overclocking. Got a danger den setup, only way I can do that is with higher vcores. Congrats guys, this is the best board I have seen in awhile, the upgrade paths are incredible. I will send you an email as well aceman, thanks for the hard work.

Jeff

Well, I read the review. And well, I am not such a big expert.... Could you please tell me why you think it is lame?? I just wanna know your reasons....

Yeah Tom's is bias towards anything that isn't Intel anyway... so I don't really listen to what they say. The board is great... just needs bios revisions for voltages settings... Check out anandtechs review... makes you feel alot better about the board.

^ No offence, but the Asrock board isnt really intended for the serious overclocker ;)

It would be good if the major manufacturers like Asus, DFI, MSI, etc take up this chipset seriously as well :)

@Nikhil... Well i am surprised at Toms review cause the board is mere $75 ans yes thats dirt cheap... that board is marginally slower then a NF4 Ultra and has some of the stupid features missing but it has somethng what nobody else has been able to implement... AGP + PCIx without sacrifising performence... When you read the conclusion he nowhere mentiones that... Its a damm good board for the price and if you are not into overclocking and have a high end AGP card then this is the board to get... Think about people who are stuck with a 9800 Pro or a 6800Gt or a X800 XT AGP card and they want to upgrade to a high end platform but want to keep there card as well... This is a board for them...

Hell even you have a 6800 GT + A8V... Think about it this baord is performing equal to an A8V... And is for $75... Now isnt that impressive... To top it up you can slap in a PCIx card now can our A8v's do not... NO... Thats the whole friggin point which TOM's didnt mention... Check out anandtech's... ULI has a chipset which can Do AGP+SLI+Overclock now how cool does that sound and that too without sacrifising on any performence... Now just think of this already ABIT,DFI and Gigabyte are developing a board on the same chipset... Did Tom mention it anywhere... Thats why i say Tom's is pathetic...

ok.... just wanted to know why you felt that way :)

Now, I too feel that way... :bleh:

But I would definitely wait for a similar board from DFI, Asus, MSI, etc....
