I had the SP3 RC2 slipstreamed into the windows installer but i cant uninstall it now.
Under the add/remove programs there is no service pack 3 for uninstallation!!

Any work around for this situation as i want install the RTM SP3...

Slipstreamed service packs cannot be uninstalled. In a slip streamed service pack, the original files are overwritten by the service pack files and do not exist any more, so there is no way to restore them on an uninstall.

You seem to be out of luck. This is why release candidates are best avoided by casual users.

i download sp3 final version it has few bug problem at alt-tab

and boot speed is faster less 4 sec but it random the pops up the size at different multi tasker and many games improver 3-5 fps extra

hey king,i got the SP3 pack from my friend.During the installation process it showed a screen where i had to choose a directory for the uninstallation of the pack.........It had the same "KB936929" in it?????? after installing it, my "Add/Remove programs" is showing an uninstallable category for SP3 module ..........does that mean that mine is the final version and not an RC version.....??????? i m quite confused about this...

After rebooting the system properties shows the OS as Windows XP Professional SP3 Version 3.31....something...i don't remember.

i m asking the above questions because i want to be sure that SP3 file i got is the final version and not an RC version...

^^ yeah youve got the final version because KB936929 is the final version.

i did not download the stand alone SP3 final exe final as i anyways wanted to install a fresh copy of Win XP.

so yesterday me and my friend got two versions of

Windows XP SP3 RTM slipstreamed

one is normal edition and the other says black edition -

1)XP_PRO_SP3_RTM_ENG+MUI_PL

2)Windows.XP Black Edition SP3 RTM-iNT(Release-Lounge software by calka)

is there any way by which i can know if it has the final SP3 without really installing the windows..

PS: if the mods think that posting the names of different version of SP3 available is against the site rules. they may edit the names as suitable. :)

What advantage to those other two give you anyway? I would suggest slipstreaming your own CD. It is pretty easy.

As for why SP3 is showing up as uninstallable for Balkazzar, I am not sure. I haven't used XP SP3, nor have I read up extensively on it, so I can't really say why that might be.
