Suppose a genie shows up and gives you a choice.

car #1 : Very Hot exterior- Carbon fibre, body kits, alloy wheels, eports exhaust .... the list goes an. possibly every visual upgrade that can be done tastefully on a car. Note that this is not a PIMPED ride - it looks great. The only catch in the tale is, that the mechanicals are all stock. not even an aftermarker air filter

not exactly a textbook ricer, but still, in the abscense of any performance mods, can be considered rice

Car #2. The entire internals have been reworked. The works . conical filters, custom air intake,headers, ported and polished engine, who knows , even a turbo+ intercooler thrown in, dampers, better tyres, discs all around, the only catch being that It looks completely stock, not even a ferrari sticker :P

Sleeper for sure!! Amazing to surprise people.

Sometimes I think it's more fun to have a Lancer MIVEC and overtake people than have a Merc SLK/Audi TT :P
 
^^An ordinary lancer will overtake 95% of moving things on the road. No need of MIVEC. When one is fighting autos all the time, all one needs is a light clutch :P.

edit: hell, even if i had the choice between a car pimped out aesthetically and perfomance mods, and a sleeper, id still take the sleeper. like nikhil said, the look on the competitions face makes it totally worth it. Less attention from the cops doesnt hurt either ;)

get a Lancer and a Evo....replace all the internals of the lancer with Evo and take it out for ride.....

dont bother with k&n man , not really worth it. stick to the oem air filter and replace it at regular intervals and you are good to go
 
yeah coz air flow will be choked at another point, and the air/fuel will become lean and u shall have to retune the engine
 
Baatli, not the replacement K&N Air filter but a conical one. It does make a difference. Yes, you have to retune your engine to deliver more fuel into the cylinder, but it's worth it.
 
well, i meant the stock replacement one only:ashamed:. And I read somewhere that K&N's dont help NA diesels at all, but forced induction motors get some benefit..

in the end , there aren't many mods you can do to a diesel. fart cannon? And then what , sound like a truck? Pete? he cant help. he doesnt do tata vehicles :(

weight reduction? I'd have to throw out the engine first :P

K&N is pretty much useful if it goes along with other mods like remaps, turbos, high compression etc. On its own, its kinda like killing the engine slowly.

and a free flow exhaust....either get the exhaust AND the filter or dont get any :)
