Processor AMD Phenom II X4 955BE - 7300

Motherboard MSI 880GMA-E45/ Gigabyte GA-785GMT-USB3- 5700

or replace GPU with monitor cuz u cant really watch HD movies on a 17inch screen... Dell S2009W 6500

If u want both the GPU and the monitor then u need to get

Processor AMD Phenom II X2 555BE(3.2Ghz, 2 cores, 6MB L3 Cache)- 4900

Biostar TA785G3- 3800

Then total = 31350... perfect for gaming though.... and the 555 has a 90% chance to unlock to a quad core 965BE :D

Kingston and transcend are not BAD brands, they have different models meant to serve different requirements. It doesn't imply that they are bad.

ASUS has improved a lot, currently it's providing one of the best customer service & support after corsair.

Sufficing all these requirements in your budget is really difficult. But still I'll recommend you the best possible configuration in your budget.

CPU : AMD Phenom II X4 955BE(3.2Ghz, 2 cores, 6MB L3 Cache) Rs.8000

MOTHERBOARD : MSI 880GMA-E45 Rs.5700(if you go for a similar intel rig you may miss out on either USB3 or SATA 6gb/s, AMD offers both at nice price)

GRAPHICS CARD : Sapphire HD4770 512MB DDR5 Rs.5900(this is the least you should buy considering your gaming requirements)

RAM : 4GB(2*2) DDRIII 1333Mhz Corsair Rs.5200

CABINET : CM Elite 310 Rs.1800(including an extra 120mm fan for intake)

SMPS : Corsair CX 400 Rs.2700 (Buy VX450@3700 if your the budget permits)

Keyboard+Mouse : Logitech Optical Mouse + Mult.Media Keyboard Set Rs.700

Total Amount = Rs.30000

If you're planning to sell of your old configuration get a Benq G2220HD LCD monitor @ Rs.7700.

P.S. -
  • You've not mentioned about DvDRW and Speaker System.
  • Your details regarding the HDD are a bit confusing if you already have 500gb+160gb, sell off the 160gb and keep only 1 HDD in your case it'll keep things sorted, reduce noise, reduce energy consumption and decrease the heat generated too.

@ varunversion1, thanks for this superb configuration.:thanx: Well but if i can have an equivalent intel configuration then it would be a lot easier to take decision that which one should be opted.

@aman.pitbull, i'm not saying that Transcend and Kingston are bad. I'm too using Transcend ram but for a new system, i would prefer a Corsair over it because of the A.S.S. and 10 yrs of warranty.

And yeah i forgot to mention DVD Writer, so add that too(sorry for that...). And no speakers system, already have a custom setup of speakers along with a DVD player, so he will be using that.

And yeah, really great configuration...seems nice to me. But if i had an intel alternative, then it would be better to take decision which one to opt.

Well, my friend is a little biased over having Intel setup.(You know most people have heard i5, i7(talking about noobies) over Phenom X2 or X4.... want to flaunt it..)

a decent intel setup would cost more because a core i5 by itself costs around 9-10k... considering ur friend likes to game he should be focusing on the graphics card more than the CPU...right now amd rulz in this price segment... u wanna flaunt it just say its a Black Edition Phenom... sounds way cooler than i5 in my opinion... :D

Add an LG dvd-rw for 900 bucks

Selling ur old config should net u some money... so u can get the 955 BE proccy , usb3 mobo , 4770 and the 20inch dell for around 35k

yeah, the config suggested by Varun seems cool to me..but the budget is then exceeding 30K. My friend had a strict budget of 30K(his mom is giving him money for a new system), so he is compromising with the monitor with a hope that he might get some cash from his dad for new LCD.:eek:hyeah:

I also advised him to get Phenom X II 555 BE and unlock it to Quad core.

I've few questions in my mind before finalizing this configuration

1.Does the motherboard you've suggested support O.C. ?

2. How much rating does this processor give in Windows 7(both 955 and 555)?

3.Rating of the graphic card in windows 7?

Also will confirm from him if he want to sell his current setup or not..
