razvans rig is the perfect of the lot cause x4 is needed for rendering and amd is for the common man so hell with intel. u can save money on the GPU. damn i could have waited for the phenom 2
 
So basically, vaio is just better than dell only when it comes to looks? The reason she's sticking to the dell is cos she can get some rebate on it. Some offer from someone working in an IT company. One other point is that the dell 15 can be customized to the one that you want. So a higher end proccy (2.53G) can be bought outta the rebate.

Were moving in a completely different direction from the title of the thread.

U can go for Studio 15 and upgrade to higher proccy but u will feel the heat from the laptop during ur encoding work.

Dell studio runs hot .

I'll say it again it won't compensate a desktops processing power.
