RIM has just announced their Blackberry 10 OS alongside their simultaneous unveiling of the Blackberry Z10 and Blackberry Q10 smartphones. The Z10 and Q10 are the very first devices based on the new BB10 OS platform, and they look to regain RIM's lost pride as well as get back some of that market share which once belonged to the Canadian firm. So let's have a closer look at both these handsets.
Blackberry Z10
The Blackberry Z10 is a 4.2 inch device built with business class in mind. The phone has a unique design that sets it apart from all other current smartphones. And this BB isn't a weakling either, packing very powerful hardware and plenty of RAM for smooth multi-tasking. The phone is packed with plenty of storage and powerful camera modules to enable the best multimedia experience as well, so that the phone is appealing beyond it's target business crowd (not that prime target anymore) as well.
Blackberry Z10 Specifications
On the specifications, the Blackberry Z10 is top notch. It ropes in a Snapdragon S4 dual core along with 2 GB of RAM (that's a lot) as well as a really nice (although no idea whether IPS or simple TFT make) display with a very high 356 ppi pixel density.
The camera is an 8 MP module capable of 1080p video recording. The front camera is a 2 MP sensor which also can shoot at 1080p, interesting. The phone packs 16 GB of internal storage, and that can be expanded further by 32 GB. We won't be having any storage issues with this device it seems. The phone's design is complemented by a not-razr-thin 9 mm thickness and a decent 135 grams weight that just gives the phone enough weight in our hands to not feel like floating air.
The battery is only 1,800 mAh which might put some of us into concerns. Honestly, RIM could have done better with a higher rated battery. But then again they could have had a 1080p display and a quad core CPU as well. We can just hope for RIM's optimization on this one. The phone of course packs the company's latest and greatest Blackberry 10 OS.
All in all, looking up to be a great device. Here are links to some reviews that you can read for more detailed info.

Blackberry Q10
The Blackberry Q10 is the QWERTY packing brother of the Z10. What is a Blackberry when it doesn't have the famed hardware keyboard? Many people who e-mailed a lot used to buy Blackberry smartphones just for the keyboard, and RIM wants to keep it that way with their BB10 based devices as well. The Blackberry Q10 is not identical to the Z10 in internal specifications. One look tells us that the components that make this device tick are a mix of inferior and better at the same time. Let's have a look shall we.
Blackberry Q10 Specifications
A lot has changed with the Blackberry Q10. First up is the use of a different chipset by Texas Instruments. This chipset has a CPU which is slower than the Snapdragon S4 in the Z10. The 2 GB of RAM remains. We have no details on the amount of internal storage as well.
The 3.1 inch square display is of Super AMOLED make. This is far far better than the standard LCD of the Blackberry Z10. We wonder why the same technology wasn't adopted for the other phone as well. We must note that the display does have a respectable ~328 ppi pixel density which is far far higher than any other smartphone of the same type (packing a physical QWERTY keyboard) and with such a small display (less than 4 inch at the moment). The phone is weighty at 139 grams, but then this one has hardware keyboards. Thankfully unlike most other such devices, the display size isn't painfully small or a pain to use as well.

The phone packs the same 1,800 mAh battery. This device will suck lesser juice though thanks to smaller display and resolution. Expect better battery life out of it. Of course, the smartphone comes packing with Blackberry 10 OS.

Blackberry Q10 is expected to be Globally available by April. We wish it were sooner though, the wait has been a really long one (especially for some).
