Hi guys,

I have fixed on a Petrol Car, given the fact that I drive for not so long distances..

Please tell me which is better:

Figo Titanium or Ritz ZXi or i10 Asta or Beat LT Option?

The car should be fun to drive,as I am a college goer, and this is my First Car..

It should have a decent music system. If its not that great,I can go for an After market Solution later.

Budget: max 6L OTR

Requirements:

Low maintenance

Great Fuel Efficiency

Should be spacious 5 Adults(2 Tall and 3 Short)

Good Quality Ride - Stability

One Last question: When is Beat Diesel coming?

Get an i20 Sportz. Should fit into your 6L budget and you get most of the goodies. Amongst your shortlisted cars, the other option you can explore is the Figo. If you are a bit more particular about mileage and low maintenance, go for the i10. The others don't come close - except for the Ritz may

I wouldn't recommend the other two as I personally do not like them (Ritz - poor poor poor quality interiors, Beat - blah looks). be

Regarding Beat, DOnt worry about the looks dude.. I Just love the looks..

I just wanna know if it is any good when up against these 3..

No i20 please.. ABS and Airbags are compulsory for whatever it may be worth...

Do you know anything about Beat Diesel?

^^ I had actually booked an i10... Payed Booking amount..

But as I see, the car is made more of plastic than metal.

That is the reason I am having a second thought.. Only the newer i10s have this...

How is the Beat Diesel? after checking its review, I am hell bent onto it.. 175mm of Ground Clearance and All goodies in a 5L(expected price) diesel car?

Beat D is slated to launch on the 25th of this month, however bookings are already open. It should be a fun to drive(in city) car and perfectly caters to your need of FE and compliant ride quality. Expect the prices to be 60-80k dearer than its petrol counterpart. The stock HU is adequate, you just need to replace the speakers and add an amplifier maybe. Contemporary(in your face) and swanky looks suits the college going generation perfectly.

Figo petrol is not fun to drive and has abysmal FE. Looks dated too. However, space and ride quality will be better amongst all the options you have slated. Its the Figo D that's worth its salt.

The next gen i10 has a gem of an engine and should cater to your "fun to drive" criteria, good FE and best quality interiors. However, ride quality isn't that good and the rear bench is uncomfortably bumpy.(PS. Have both a Beat and an i10 in the family, and the Beat's ride quality is way too superior).

The Ritz is the best packaged hatch from the MS stable. Gem of an engine, generously spacious, reasonable FE and MASS. It has everything going for it. It fails on the looks department though(but then, that's always subjective).

Ritz Looks are Ok for me dude..

You really helped me alot..

I have reworked my budget and now One last call elft:

Figo D/Beat D/Ritz..

Will keep looking..

I say figo d. Don't like looks of ritz, and the beat may not be very comfortable to fit 5 people in. Go for a TD and check this. Rear has small windows and quite claustrophobic.

My suggestion is go for Ritz! I have one for more than one year now!

1) Its engine is a gem and is a pleasure to drive (it simply zips through and figo or beat don't even come close to it).

2)The handling of the car is superb(widest wheelbase - all tyres in Zxi have 185mm)!

3)The power steering is very responsive (but less responsive than beat).

4)The driving position gives you a better look of the road which is great especially if you plan to go on drives on weekends (figo and beat are complete failures here).

5)As far as the fuel efficiency is concerned, it gives me 13-15 Km/ltr in peak mumbai traffic (which is a madhouse every day :( ).

6)On the long drives that i take on weekends i easily get 15-16 kms/ltr.

7)And apart from the free services i have never needed to send the car for repair of any sort.

8) it is definitely not as spacious as indica but still 5 people can comfortably sit inside a Ritz

9) Add the stereo mounted controls and the superb default speakers and you have an absolute winner here.

Downsides

1)no bluetooth

2)the rear shock absorbers seem a bit stiff at the time of buying

Hope this helps :)

You can get a Tata Manza basic variant for 6lacs OTR and I would anyday buy it over all these especially because:

1. It has twice the amount of rear space, if not more

2. It is a sedan.

3. It is much better than previous Tata products.

You can also consider Etios or Fiesta Classic or Ikon etc.

If it has to be a hatch, then why not Polo or Micra?
