Companies wouldn't do this voluntarily. Must be directives straight from the CCP. Owner of Huawei use to be a high ranking army officer so he would have motives for sure.
Problem nowadays is a lot stuff on the market is chinese only, for example you try finding a non-chinese USB Blutooth 5.x adapter for a a PC, virtually impossible, even ASUS seem to have left the Indian market.

The US energy officials seem to be worried about a co-ordinated blackout of their national electric grid. Someone should tell them that it is going to happen repeatedly regardless of the inverters used, as is done in Spain and Portugal to achieve "Net Zero" energy policies.
Is the root cause of Spain and Portugal power cut off verified and published ?
CN actually did down grid network of some south american country for not issuing visas to Chinese electric engineers who built the very system.
