Where on earth is it?

I don't see it in the picture.

Gaur se dekho :-) What do you think the vents in front of heater are for?

i guess they mean blower and not fan.

look for delonghi or westinghouse. both are available in delhi. better quality product. My polar heater got bad after 1 year.

Guess I have already missed the bus for delonghi or westinghouse. But I never did find any shop selling these, so no loss.

What exactly went wrong with Polar heater?

Go with Morphy Richards room heater @ 2k.. I own one and happy to have over halogen heaters which don't last longer. The MR heater runs silent and warms up the room pretty well.

Why dont you guys provide links/pics for the models you tested..?

Will prove to be lot more helpful than just mentioning the brand names. :)

delonghi is available at satyam fx in sector 18 market. Also on ebay .

westinghouse is not in retail yet as it has just entered India but you can buy from saket mall. they have an exhibition stall there next to costa coffee.

Bought a Morphy Richards 11 fin Oil heater @ 7.7k today , even after keeping it at highest setting 2500 watts for an hour with thermostat at highest setting there was very little heat from the heater and it did not heat up the room at all , room size is 9 feet x 13.5 feet , is this a faulty piece or it takes even more time to heat up ? this is my first oil heater.

An hr should be long enough to heat up the room & maintain that temperature... Are you sure the cold air is not seeping in the room.. Also check the power consumption. If your electric meter isn't moving much then its definitly a faulty piece...

The heater did not feel too hot when i stood next to it , it was connected through a custom made power extention chord which can handle high load, i will try with out the chord and will check the meter.

I got it replaced , still not heating well , morphy richards engineer visited and said my room is too big for the heater and i should get a 13 fin , 11 fin is only good for around a 10x10 room

Just buy halogen heat pillars (2x1KW) which have a 120mm fan at bottom. They oscillate too.

They cost around 2.8k and do an excellent job.

Oil-Heat radiators take loads of time, and need the room to be closed. In this case I would suggest Sunflame 11fin model with Fan which costs <6k. Morphy richards and bajaj are just overpriced. The Delonghi is no longer original, just chinese.

I went to another dealer he said Delonghi 12 fin will heat 50% more than a Morphy 11 fin , now my morphy 11 fin is useless , should i go for delonghi? getting 12 fin for 7300 .

^Woudn't advice on that. He's just marketing/pasting you another 7.3k radiator. An I woudn't recommend buying Delonghi. AFAIK, we don't get original Delonghi's anymore, just the chinese ones, which cost us (dealer) around 5k. If the sales guy is so persuasive about the 50% extra heat, he should allow you to demo the heater for 1 day at your place and return in as-new condition. Or atleast he should give a zero cost exchange scheme with the morphy richards, as morphy is costlier to the dealer than the delonghi

Overall, like I said, oil heat radiators take loads of time and electricity to warm up the area just around the heater by a few degrees. Some air circulation (in the closed room) is required and hence I suggested to go for a oil heater with inbuilt front fan.

Else, if you are really looking for a proper heater, forget the oil ones and buy anything else (Heat pillars / Halogen heaters / Heat convectors).

PS: I have loads of experience in consumer electricals as I'm myself a dealer.

EDIT: For best results of oil-radiators, place it near a closed door/window nearest to the user, with the heater placed perpendicular to the nearest wall.

He is giving me a one day demo & money back guarantee but after reading your post i think i will stay away from oil heaters for now.
