Router modem query

If I buy linksys or net gear router cum adsl modem. Will it work out of the box with bsnl broadband. Pls help. So will it have to be taken to the exchange and configured

It will work out of box in either bridge or PPPoE mode with configuration VPI & VCI values 0 & 35 inside Router admin page. No need to take it to exchange.
