Hello,
I am getting two sided answers for this question from many guys.. Some say FI is better and some say only RTR is better..

Which one is good looking at Average??

Thanks....

Looks both are equals unless u look at the disc brakes of the FI and the small FI stickering at the back

FI is supposed to give better mileage due to the fact that FI technology is been used.
Not many FI on the road.. first batch had very limited numbers and were already delivered.Next batch expected to come to showrooms in 10-15 days.

i got my FI on the 1st of this month. One key difference which not many people seem to know is that the height of the bike has been increased over the old rtr. 50mm which translates to about 2 inches. Fuel efficiency is supposed to be better than the carb although its too early to tell.

my bike has an issue with the fuel injection which is currently being sorted out at the service centre. another friend had warned me about buying from the first few batches of any model as they are bound to have some teething problems.

i'm in a bit of a hurry, going out, will post more on the same later today.

^ Gud thing for me that they increaed the height..

I guess thats the reason y there is such a big delay between the first batch and the second. Have booked my bike when the bike was launched and am still wating. the showroom guy told me that they had received 5 sample bikes out of which 4 had been delivered and 1 was a test bike

Ok, i just got a call from the service manager saying that the bike is fixed ... about time ... its the third day the bike is with him!

The problem was when opening the throttle past about half, the engine would die down till the throttle was released. kinda like someone hitting the kill-switch while accelerating. this symptom is also typical of fuel not reaching the combustion chamber. so it was hard to diagnose. i will know tomorrow exactly what the prob was when i go to collect the bike.

fuel efficiency, its a big problem. first, lemme clarify that keeping tabs on your bike's FE is a great way to guage the health of the engine and not just for OCD ppl. i used to check the FE of every bike i've owned, every time i filled petrol, using the reserve to reserve method. the prob is that the rtr FI doesnt have a reserve, not even a petrol knob. i need to know how much each dandi on the fuel guage (digital) represents in terms of fuel. also, i have a full tank so it will take a while for me to figure out the FE.

based on company claims and the state of tune of the engine with the added benefit of FI, i guess 5-10 kmpl more than the carb should be about right.

one more thing i need to mention is that i really didnt want the rear disc because i do most of my braking with the front, only using the rear to stabilize the bike, for which a drum would have been more than enough. but the rear disc on the FI is just beautiful, providing awesome feedback and excellent braking. no fear of locking the rear unintentionally.

another great feature is that the pass-flasher is on dc. when the headlight or the engine is OFF, or if the engine is on with the headlight ON on low-beam, the flasher switch flashes to high beam. when the bike is on and the headlight is on high beam, the flasher switch adds low beam. this means that you can use the flasher in ANY situation. except when the key is off, lol.

more later ...

but not for me yaar, i'm only 5'3" and the old rtr was a perfect fit. now the added height plus the width of the seat and side panels means its a bit of a pain for me when parking and wheeling around. heck, i find the cbz/karizma easier to handle. and its not just a feeling, i have researched overall/seat height specs of all the bikes to figure out why my FI's felt so tall.

my bike isnt exactly the first batch. its 2nd or 3rd batch. i got it only on the 1st of september.

dunno about cruising, the riding position is a little extreme, even more than the R15 which is a very good cruiser.

but the fi is a very good city bike, very good performance and handling for cutting through traffic
