Ok. Because I had to stay home recovering ( dont ask, too long a story :P ), I had a chance to finally complete a game.

Just finished Clear sky and the game left me confused.

The game is frustrating, agonising at times, lots of bugs, and s#it!0@ds of monoliths in the nuclear power plant to kill.
I do all that, eliminate Strelok's psy protection, and some weird thing happens. zone becomes unstable and a cut scene showing this.



and the game ends.

I mean, I am confused.... Whats the meaning of this? Just that I survived??

If so I am hoping this game is ended like this to make way for another sequel. Because there are lots of unanswered questions left.....
 
We play as strelok in the stalker shadow of chernobyl ... and we somehow got the PDA with the task "kill strelok" ... this guy is strelok taking refuge in the tunnel ... and the clear sky ppl (incl our character are dead ) ... even i was confused ..but then i saw one of the ending of the original stalker ..in which we were called strelok ... so it became clear...
 
Behold the second worst game of 2008, actually its taking on Mercenaries 2 head on for the worst game of the year title....no, seriously.
 
^^ i kinda liked the game......btw there is a patch of around 55 mb which resolves many bugs from the game........
 
Yeah the patch solved many storyline issues. But it still didnt solve some of the other minor bugs. There are multiple locations where you can get stuck :P

eg. army warehouse where you are going to talk to the stalkers about their missing team, if my mistake after the talk you stand beside their leader and other guys comes ans sits in front of you, you cant move :P they wont move ever ( i even left the game running overnight :P ).

Thats silly bug.

But overall, game is not bad. Not the worst game I have played for sure. Its one of the better ones, but at times can be frustrating. And I didnt play it on the novice or stalker difficulty ( I should have done that to begin with atleast ).

I liked the guns ( once you finally get decent gun and money to upgrade, its really great game to play ).

Liked the fully upgraded viper specially :D
 
yeah ... i got te viper in the first level itself but its condition was really bad .. and i never had the 9x.39 ammo at that stage.. and in anticipation of the ammo irepaired the gun for 9600 RU at the clear sky base ... and the gun and the ammo come in the latter half ... so i wasted that money and was carrying the gun all the time :\ ... but still i got a new one from the forester ... my fav weapon was the AK74\2 (the green one) ... was really great with accuracy and the another was the one in my sig ... which had a nice scope ... but viper came in real handy in the bridge fight ... really nice for the headshots :)
 
An update has been released to bring the version to 1.5.09. Here's the changelog.:ohyeah:
Patch 1.5.09 introduces the following changes:

Improved integrated anti-cheating system to take screenshots from the player’s screen.
Improved integrated anti-cheating system that allows the remote admins to track the modifications in network game parameters.
Fixed bug with killing the player after respawn.
Improved player-checking system upon connection.
Fixed bug with RPG-7.
Fixed bug in buy menu.
Added new effect High Definition Ambient Occlusion.
Increased the game stability.
Changes of game balance in Multi-player:
- Increased damage dealt by "Tunder & "SA Avalanche ".
- Added possibility to attach scope to "SA Avalanche".
- "UDP Compact" pistol now has an increased cartridge (12 bullets).

Saved games.

1.5.04 - 1.5.08 versions saved games will be compatible with 1.5.09.

out of curiousity, did clear sky ever have a retail release here in india? i'd like to buy it but i don't think i've ever seen it in stores. it's available on various digital distribution services but there it costs a little more than what i'd like to pay for it.
