Confused, i'm getting both for almost same price. so tell me which one to go for ?
which one to go for in terms of processor, camera mainly...no intentions to do gaming.

or wait for prices to drop when s4 releases?
i'm not looking for htc phones.

W/r,

Same price? If warranty is important to you, go for the Galaxy S3. Also, it has a slightly better camera in terms of resolved detail and colour reproduction.

Once the S4 is out, the price of the S3 won't fall dramatically. The S2 is still selling at ~25k, so don't expect the S3 for 22k or anything.

Also, If software updates are important for you, go for the Nexus 4.

Well Nexus 4 should be the obvious choice if you aren't concerned about the warranty. And what's this 'SAME' price you were saying? Please do share the links as well. Otherwise Optimus G is a far better options as mentioned above. It's far better than S3 and can be an 'with warranty' option for Nexus 4 with a better screen and camera. The only downside would be that the updates won't be as fast, which i believe should still be better than S3 (G being LG's flagship, but LG got a bad track record on updates.)

This is a good point.

Another point in favour of the Optimus G is that if you're feeling adventurous, you can head over to XDA and turn your Optimus G into a Nexus 4. This means that you can install ANY custom ROM that is made for the Nexus 4 on the Optimus G. So, the Optimus G is a Nexus 4 with a micro SD slot, better camera and (arguably) worse design.

I just bought a Galaxy S3 for Rs. 23,500 from Gobol.in. It's a refurb, but it's as brand new as it can be: sealed box, sealed accessories, scratchless, spotless phone! Six month Samsung warranty too, since it was refurb'd by Samsung itself.

Even I wanted a Nexus 4, but for this price, the best I could do was an 8GB and warranty-less one. The S3 has 16GB and 6 months warranty, so it was the better deal!

Update: Now sold out! Damn! http://gobol.in/catalogsearch/result/?category=&q=i9300&x=-820&y=-10

Congrats on the purchase mate. Even i got an S3 , 4 months old from a seller for 22k and I'm loving it. Is yours updated to JB? Mine's still on ICS and I would probably update this weekend. Now I need to get a good case and screenguard for it. Have you bought any case for it?

Thanks! Yeah, mine already came with 4.1.1 and I got the 4.1.2 update as i connected it. If you're okay with taking things into your own hand, you can install 4.2.1 on it right now: http://www.ibtimes.com/android-421-...axy-s3-official-update-likely-after-galaxy-s4

I'm not into cases and screen guards. I feel that they add an unnecessary layer between me and the device. For phones, at least, because my iPads are nicely tucked away in full jackets! If I did want a cover for the S3, though, I'd start at Amzer or Fommy and then move to DX.com or some random eBay seller from HK.

Good luck!

I am thinking of going for the capdase jacket and a matte screenguard.
Currently, I am finding the RAM usage on the higher side (600mb+/779mb), even though I am not running a lot of apps. I am guessing this should get fixed by updating to 4.1.2? Also, should I expect any improvements in battery?

Optimus G is alot more expensive than nexus 4.Nexus 4 16GB is around 24k and optimus G is around 31-32k.Except camera, both have virtually same hardware.Screen is same on both devices, just better caliberated on G.It can always be changed by custom kernel on nexus 4.LG has a bad record for providing updates. If warranty or camera is an issue,go for G else nexus 4.

That RAM usage seems to be a bit high.Mine usually hovers around 480 MB or so but I use Rambooster which cleans up the RAM in a 15 min interval.
As to 4.1.2 battery life seems to be a bit better.
