Storage Solutions Safe to buy external HDD from online site like indiaplaza? How to claim warranty?

Wanted to buy a 1TB WD My Book Essential Edition or home edition ext. HDD for my computer.Since i couldn't find a single place in baroda which sells these i am considering buying a 1Tb Seagate Free Agent Desktop External Hdd from indiaplaza.in. Indiaplaza.in : Electronics - Computers and Accessories - Seagate Free Agent Desktop External Hdd 1Tb (One Tera Bite). wanna know whether this site is reliable and how long will it take for the product to reach me ?

Use:- mainly to play HD movies from the ext. HDD.

Now the site mentions that this product enjoys a 5 yr. all india warranty.So how does one claim warranty if something goes wrong??

Also one more thing:---is this drive noisy ??
 
Seagate warranty is handled by Accel Frontline ( in South - HQ Chennai) and they check only by serial no.s

so, yes, u can buy online and claim RMA easily.
 
its safe , since this external HDD are tightly sealed and properly packed by the manufacturer itself. No problems
 
indiaplaza should be pretty safe. in any case when u buy any hdd, usually your local reseller will redirect u to the service center. so, even here it will be same.

i have got stuff from primeabgb. its comes within 2-3 days depending on public holiday. great packing.

1. Primeabgb is a reputed store in Mumbai with an online site. They are known for providing good service.

2. WD external hard drives usually have 3 yrs warranty I believe. Please check with the seller once (call them up on their phone numbers during the day). You can clarify warranty terms too. WD has a pick-up facility for warranty / RMA where they ll pick up the product from your home itself.

EDIT: Just PM the registered dealers on this forum. I am sure they can give you even better pricing by the way :)
